French racer - the Venturi 400GT! In the 80s, Gerard Godfroy and Claude Poiraud (two Frenchmen) set out to build their own dream sports car. Their first car was the Venturi 200, which took inspiration from the BMW M1. Then, as the 80s came to an end, their second model, the Venturi 260 was introduced. It was a step up from the 200, with more power and more prowess. By the start of the 90s, a majority stake in the company was sold to a new majority owner. "MVS" as a company name was dropped, in favor a more simplified Venturi. With the new ownership and the shortened name, the company moved to a new factory, expanded their operations and made plans to enter motorsports. This was the building blocks that made the 400 and all its variants a reality. Based on the racecar, the 400GT takes what made the racecar formidable around the track, and brings it to the road. Sporting a Renault Safrane based Twin Turbo 3.0L V6 (PVR) making 408hp, with that power routed through a SADEV 5-Speed Manual Transmission. The car weighed in at about 2500lbs (1140kg). All of this good for a 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds, which is Ferrari 355 territory. Top speed was est to be 180mph. Small tidbit: It was the first production car to adopt Carbon Ceramic brakes, made by Carbone Industrie. Venturi made less than 100 examples across all variants, with only about 15 of them being road cars. This particular example, one of the road cars, is finished in Bleu Mauritius. #venturi #400gt #supercar #performance #speed #france 🇫🇷 #Anis_Maaouia

It was a lovely car to thrash around the (virtual) track in the GTR2 racing simulator. God it's so 90s! I really can't guess its current quotations. 🤔
