#APTipTuesday – Volunteers are a key element to your event success. Here are three easy and effective ways to ensure your event volunteers are well-prepared and happy! 1. Be proactive in emailing the following details to your volunteers in advance of event day: event location, arrival time, appropriate attire, parking arrangements, whether a meal/snack/beverages will be provided, and who to contact with questions. 2. Provide a role-specific brief training once volunteers arrive. 3. excellent article on the state of volunteerism in the non profit sector. I can relate to so many things in here but I'm only 5 years in compared to the author's 30 years. Volunteers and volunteer management is so often misunderstood and isolating. But, it is also a driving force of production in the sector, and we all have so much to learn and unlearn.
