🚀Empowering Social Media Managers to become Industry Leaders | Founder and CEO of Social Frontiers
🦁 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐅𝐎𝐌𝐎 🦁 This week my timeline is flooded with Cannes Highlights. The memory of my one and only Cannes Lions adventure is bittersweet. In 2019 was honoured to be part of the Social & Influencer Jury, but I was also 10 weeks pregnant🤰 . Since my first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, I planned to keep this one secret for a bit longer. But if you've ever been to Cannes Lions, you can imagine how hard that is! To be honest, if I would have been on the jury for that other little festival they host, I think I would have taken home a 🌴 D'or for my outstanding acting. Opening night the hosts welcomed us with Champagne, oysters, and sushi 🥂 🦪🍣. I told everyone I was training for an athletic event and I was on a special diet 🤦♀️. Dinner the next night? Seafood galore 🦞. The following evening? A feast of red meats 🥩 . And the parties! Legendary MediaMonks bash, rooftop drinks at the Martinez, and getting trashed at the Gutter Bar. I missed them all, knocked out by 10PM every night 🌙. What I didn't miss was breakfast, since I had to eat within one hour of waking otherwise I would be sick all day 🤮 . I cracked on day 3, sharing my news with the jury and my former manager Antoinette Hoes and Bruni Hofman, who noticed the change in my eyes. 2020 saw Cannes Lions canceled, 2021 pregnant again 🤰, 2022 and 2023 flew by one diaper at a time. And this year, I'm busy building my new company, Social Frontiers, launching in September 🚀 . Next year, I will be there, and plan to go all in. this year was the first one I actually missed the parties and the socialising at the Croisette… maybe I will go next year, just out of pure joy :-)
