***Smart meter professional antennas: how to guarantee the connectivity of the the water and gas meters*** The smart water and gas metering technology, i.e. remotely reading consumption using a radio device connected through a measuring device to a telecommunications network, has offered both end users and service managers significant benefits. While users can benefit from this technology by avoiding unforeseen costs due to estimated readings and the consequent adjustments, operators can count on significant savings above all on the cost of the staff needed to manually read the meters, along with the possibility of monitoring leaks or faults in the distribution line in real time. Unfortunately, the standard antennas often reveal themselves unreliable as they are unable to guarantee an effective radio connection with the data collection network due to the typical point of installation of the meters. In this TEP we highlight how a custom solution can solve a serious connectivity problem not uncommon in this applications. https://lnkd.in/gU3TwTnv

Atriy’s Fault Passage Indicators (FPI) successfully integrated into SCADA Zenon The Lodestar CL0.5 BM Fault Passage Indicators (FPI) have successfully passed the SCADA Zenon integration test. The devices are equipped with a built-in GSM module, so the information is transferred directly fr om FPI to SCADA platform via DNP-3 protocol. Our OHL Fault Indicators for 6-35 kV overhead lines quickly detect damage of power lines and indicate the direction wh ere the accident occurred to the emergency crew. This allows energy companies to restore electricity supply to consumers.

Smart meters enable companies, households and municipalities to remotely access data and device functionality. Inside these meters, components need to be sealed correctly, to prevent leaks and malfunctions. As smart meter OEMs design more advanced meters and update traditional meters, they need a polymer components partner to provide insight on sealing requirements and help bring innovative and reliable products to market faster. The Capacity Allocation Mechanisms Network Code (CAM NC) harmonises how Transmission System Operators (TSOs) offer and allocate available gas transmission pipeline capacity to network users. With Europe’s decarbonisation goals and the evolving gas market, the network code, last amended in 2017, now needs to be updated. ⌨ To address this, ACER initiated the revision process earlier this year. In autumn, ACER will hold a final public consultation to collect stakeholders’ feedback on its draft proposals. 🖱 see full article 🔔 https://lnkd.in/db8tK4Kz #capacitymechanisms | #transmission | #capacityallocation | #Europeanmarketrules | #acer | #decarbonizationgoals | #networkcode | #gasmarket

Are you attending Digitalization in Oil and Gas in Houston this week? If so, be sure to stop by the Industrial LoRaWAN Solutions Hub (booth #101) to see the latest innovations that can take your operations to the next level. #DigitalizationOilandGas #DigiOil24
☀ USE CASE: Tank Monitoring in the Oil Fields ⚡ CHALLENGE: Wirelessly connecting thousands of 250-gallon emulsion tanks that support oil well health to optimize production using #LoRaWAN. Manually monitoring these remote assets previously was cost prohibitive. ✔ SOLUTION: “These tanks used to be checked with dipsticks, but we recently added ‘smart lids'” says Chevron. A single MultiTech Conduit® gateway can support thousands of end points – effectively allowing Chevron to cover the entire valley with just a few gateways. MultiTech LENS® was used for easy deployment and management of its network by providing centralized key management for LoRaWAN end devices, and configuration and control of MultiTech Conduit gateways. 📈 OUTLOOK: Since LENS makes it easy to add gateways and end devices in bulk and also create separate organizations, Chevron is considering adding additional LoRaWAN-enabled sensors to other parts of its operations in central California and beyond. 🔈 “In the end, the economics were a no-brainer, so we just did it.” #MultiTech #LoRaWANGateway LoRa Alliance #ConduitGateway https://lnkd.in/gF_z_p22

Don’t miss our paper presentation at CIGRE Canada 2024 from October 28-31 in Winnipeg. 🔍 Paper Highlights: Our innovative algorithm forecasts line ratings by first predicting the perpendicular wind speed at span locations. By integrating weather forecasts from physical models with real-time data from on-line sensors, our model dynamically adjusts to match sensor measurements. This probabilistic approach allows us to provide rating forecasts with a controllable confidence interval, ensuring robust and reliable results even in challenging conditions. Join us to learn more about how this method offers full flexibility for utilities to implement their own risk policies and has already been successfully integrated into SCADA systems by several TSOs. 📅 Event Details: 🗓️ Date: October 28-31, 2024 📍 Location: Winnipeg, Canada We look forward to seeing you there and discussing how our advancements can benefit your operations!
