Consider which is more important to you: having a tightly-knit community or having a big yard? According to HouseLogic, deciding factors generally include kids and their ages, pets, and proximity to a park. In fact, having a nearby park can add at least 8% to a community's value. #tarponspringslistings #scottsellsflorida #tarponspringshomes #tarponspringsrealestate scott@scottsellsflorida.com 727.238.5366

Absolute devastating read 💔 A massive reminder to the sector, to refresh, revisit and retrain consistently on whistleblowing. Staff must understand their duty to recognise and report concerns about those they work with, regardless of their length of service, expierence or qualifications! We have to make it high priority to revisit and retrain safeguarding, whistleblowing and recruitment procedures regularly. To continually strive to upskill staff with professional development in all aspects of their role. No measure is ever too much, so hold monthly safeguarding huddle meetings, have fun pop questions on safeguarding knowledge for all staff, create safeguarding lanyards for all staff, regularly refresh training, operate a 24 hour phone line for whistle blowing and most importantly embed a culture that means staff feel empowered to speak up if they need too! We have to do our best …. our key role is to protect children and in this tragic case, a baby and their family has been failed with devastating consequences 💔💔 Let’s work together, share great practices and prevent this happening again. #safeguardchildren #safeguarding #safeguardingmatters #childrencomefirst #makeadifference #staffdevelopment #stafftraining
A Stockport deputy nursery manager caused the death of a nine-month-old by placing her face down, tightly swaddled and strapped to a bean bag for more than an hour and a half, a court has heard.

Please take a moment to share your thoughts in the survey!
Three months into our new strategic plan, and check! Progress being made. Like most strategic plans, the proof's in the pudding. Plans aren't made to sit on a shelf. I'm super proud of the OHS team, who's making sure that doesn't happen. One of the pillars of the new strategic plan is to provide more second changes for all animals - and our community was pretty specific: they're concerned about homeless cats. So, we need to find out more, to figure out how best to help. Ottawa connections - can you help? YOU ONLY NEED ONE MINUTE! To achieve our goal, we've launched a very quick survey about outdoor cats. Well over a thousand responses to date - but our goals are lofty - we want five thousand! Help me out and respond yourself, and share the link! I look forward to sharing the results, both with our community and to the humane sector! https://lnkd.in/dZQp_G_a

Public views sought on Public Space Protection Orders. Take the questionnaire👇 https://lnkd.in/gS5fPype @lancaster-city-council is asking residents and businesses for their views on the renewal of Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) to tackle anti-social behaviour and irresponsible dog owners. In 2021 a new set of PSPOs was introduced to provide police and authorised officers with additional powers to crackdown on behaviour causing ‘annoyance, harassment, alarm or distress’, including alcohol-related anti-social behaviour or disorder. Areas they cover include Lancaster City Centre, Morecambe, Lower Heysham (covering Heysham village and barrows), Williamson Park and Happy Mount Park. Before renewing the orders, the city council would like to hear people’s views on whether any adjustments need to be made. The consultation also covers a set of dog control PSPOs to provide the council with powers to deal with issues such as fouling on our streets and parks, and ensuring dogs are kept under control. Councillor Peter Jackson, cabinet member with responsibility for communities, wellbeing and partnerships, said: “These PSPOs play an important part in ensuring that people who live, work and visit our district can do so in peace and in a place where they feel safe and welcomed. “Before deciding whether to renew them we welcome the views of local residents and businesses on the current restrictions imposed by the PSPOs and any further suggestions of measures that would further improve public safety.” The associated documentation and online questionnaire can be found online at https://lnkd.in/gS5fPype and the closing date for the consultation is Wednesday August 14. If you have any further queries on either the PSPOs or the consultation, email communitysafety@lancaster.gov.uk. - - - #MorecambeBID #LancasterCityCouncil #Morecambe #CommunitySafety #HaveYourSay #LocalBusinesses

It's Fence Day at Hamlin Park in Chicago - a day which brings joy to some, misery to others and is a modern example of the Greek case study known as "The Tragedy of the Commons" - or in this case, parks. We all like public spaces. The only question is who pays for them. Who gets to use them and when. And, in this particular instance, who gets the distinct privilege of cleaning them up (and paying for that, too.) All over the park district, there are signs everywhere that read: "No dogs allowed", and all winter long dogs run amok doing what dogs do: ripping grass out, digging holes, and creating general disarray. It's funny, too, because like 150 feet from the actual baseball diamonds there is this other quaint, charming area. You won't believe what you'll find in this safe, clean, fenced in spot. Why; that's a living, breathing real-life dog park, isn't it? Well, for months, even years, the dog owners and kids' coaches went round and round. Finally, some genius in construction and other wiseman who knows all the cops and aldermen said, "We have a solution." And presto, despite lots of online complaining and overall testiness by some neighbors, and interim solution is found. Enforced. "Fence it off!" And despite the howls of protests, some bring early morning coolers to celebrate the transition while others sulk. Either way, in about ten weeks, you'll see a bunch of six-year olds running around the Friendly, Spotless Confines with another phrase top of mind: "Play Ball". Somewhere, Pony Boy is quietly, desperately weeping. Figuring.
