ADL’s Senior Director of National Litigation, James Pasch, went on News Nation to break down our lawsuit against state sponsors of terror for their roles in the largest antisemitic attack since the Holocaust. “But for the support of Iran and Syria and North Korea, an attack of this magnitude could not have occurred.”

Tell me if you've heard this one: "If they [Palestinians] put down their arms, there will be peace. If we [Israelis] put down our arms, we will cease to exist." This argument can be found in many versions and essentially claims that Israeli violence always reacts to, or aims to deal with, Palestinian violence. My new report for the Initiative for Security and Human Rights shows that this is not true. I go through the history, all the laws, policing regulations and more to show that oppressing Palestinian nonviolence is a consistent, comprehensive policy that can be seen in action even in situations where violence is nowhere to be found. Complaining that "there is no partner for peace" when one actively destroys the partners, or claiming that human rights violations are aimed "to fight terrorism" whilst also targeting civil society and nonviolent actors is pure hypocrisy. Oppressing nonviolence and punishing it is terrible for human rights, its terrible for democracy, and its terrible for security. Having just visited my grandmother in Iraq who is my last surviving grandparent and the only grandparent I have met, I cannot imagine the unparalleled horror this child just witnessed. Only a heartless coward, a monster, an animal void of empathy and morality, slap what ever synonym you like to define those that call themselves Israeli could pull the trigger to the innocence witnessed here. Shame on those who dare to downplay the gravity of this genocide. Shame on those who defend the documented atrocities of an unprecedented scale in human history. Shame on the silent bystanders, complicit in their refusal to condemn and impose sanctions on these occupiers, murderers, and thieves of land, history, and culture. As proud Kiwis, we boast of being on the right side of history, champions of inclusion and respect for native heritage. Yet, we cannot turn a blind eye to the freedom of Palestine. It begins with our daily choices, a potent force that should never be underestimated. Denounce and shun brands profiting from warmongering; it's a choice we all make. Do not underestimate the impact of collective action. The power lies in unity, in severing ties with products and companies that fuel the flames of war. Refuse to be an unwitting supporter of oppression. To make it easier here's a brief guide for conscious consumerism: - Swap Coke-Cola or Pepsi for Karma Drinks or Phoenix Organics. - Trade McDonald's and Burger King for Burger Fuel, Sneaky Snacky, Peaches Hot Chicken, or Chicking. - Choose Hell's Pizza or Pizza Club over Pizza Hut or Domino's. - Opt for Gull over BP, Mobil, or Shell. - Boycott Unilever brands. - Say no to ETA and Bluebirds chips; go for Heartland chips. - Prefer Whittaker's over Cadbury, Lindt, Mars, and their subsidiaries. - Skip Starbucks and support any other café. - Avoid Chemist Warehouse and support local pharmacies This list is just the beginning. Your day-to-day choices wield immense power. Consider the frequency of your consumption and redirect your money towards local businesses. It's a win-win situation – supporting those in need in your own country while refusing to be an accomplice to the genocide in Palestine.

EVIDENCE: Watch the woman and child walking ahead of the group, holding white flags. Watch this war crime unfold in plain site by Israel. If Israel is not convicted of genocide by the ICJ and held accountable for these recorded and live-streamed war crimes, and if Israel's apologist in the West are not held accountable, reprimanded, and stripped of their social standing than it's the end of the world as we know it.

Today, June 26, is the United Nations Day in Recognition of Victims of Torture. For almost 20 years, the St. Louis Partnership for Survivors of Torture has worked directly with survivors, their families, and communities, to mitigate the lasting effects of these crimes against humanity. Our successes are modest compared to the scale of the problem. Torture persists as a weapon of war and persecution, and - along with war crimes in general - seems like it's being normalized as just another part of any armed conflict. So what to do? Start here: ****Support survivors in their journey to address the trauma of their experience. ****Stand up for asylum as a legal right for those fleeing torture and persecution. ****Pressure governments to back up their condemnations of human rights abuses with actions. ****Stay outraged, stay engaged, and push back against the normalization of acts that are illegal everywhere.

Later this week Israel will have to defend itself against outlandish genocide charges put against it by South Africa at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). By them accusing Israel of committing "acts that are genocidal in nature", the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and the South African ruling party the AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS have once again shown their corruption, ineptitude, ignorance, hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy. As stated in a previous post, not only is Israel not committing genocide in Gaza, Israel has been going out of it's way to minimise Palestinian casualties in Gaza, even at the cost of putting their own soldiers in harm's way. Why this charge being put forward by Ramaphosa and the ANC to the ICJ against Israel is so outlandish, morally corrupt and most of all hypocritical, besides for the above stated reason, is due to one statistic, that I have not seen anyone else cover when reporting this topic: While the ANC has ruled South Africa for the last 29 years, over 605 thousand South Africans have been murdered (according to official data, the actual number of murdered is probably higher), at an average of 20 thousand a year and at a murder rate of 40 per 100 thousand (the current global average is 6 per100 thousand). [South Africa currently has the 8th highest murder rate in the world] These are boggling statistics to contemplate. Maybe it is in fact the ruling South African government that should be brought forward to the ICJ for failing to provide safety to its own citizens as well as to protect their other basic human rights? Regarding Genocide, there was only one party that carried it out and that was Hamas, on the 7th of October 2023 when they mercilessly, sadistically and savagely butchered, tortured, raped, maimed, burned alive, disfigured and kidnapped thousands of innocent Israelis. Since Cyril Ramaphosa and the AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS don't seem to know what Genocide looks like, let them see for themselves. Here is raw footage of the aftermath of the despicable genocide carried out by Hamas against Israelis: WARNING: The footage and photos in this compilation video of the aftermath of the October 7 massacre are EXTREMELY GRAPHIC AND DISTURBING. https://lnkd.in/dD-jfDXH #statistics #genocide #southafrica #amyisraelchai #hamasisisis

The easiest arguments to defeat are the ones that are easily winnable EVEN after you conceded to the other side its main points. Take for example the notion that "they" use "human shields". Okay, fine, concede. Well, two things 1. Since you "know" there are human shields and you continue to bomb then you cannot say it is a mistake that civilians are killed.... 2. If you don't give even an iota of a **** about these humans then how are they "shields?" Since Palestinian life in this case means *nothing* to the IDF then what advantage does Hamas have in using human shields? It is just a way to justify slaughter, indiscriminate slaughter.

https://lnkd.in/gAqGtR6h Internationally recognized and documented war crimes, but here in the so called developed world, we're actually supporting these war crimes. Clearly we think we're above the laws that we've signed.

Biden's executive order targeting violent Israeli settlers is what we call in Arabic "7aki fadi," or empty rhetoric. Biden is trying to win back some Arab voters, but they will see through this charade The reason is, there's no meaningful enforcement mechanism. And without one, these criminals will continue to attack innocent Palestinians, steal their land, and block their receipt of aid. As Abed Ayoub of the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee points out on X (link in comments), there is no transparent way to identify settlers, short of the Israeli government offering that information to the United States. And that won't happen by a long shot. There *is* a viable enforcement mechanism, were the United States serious about punishing settlers and curbing their extremism. Subject American citizen settlers to criminal and civil charges back home. Sadly, the majority of violent Israeli settlers in the West Bank are American citizens. Opening them up to the American criminal justice system will be a meaningful deterrent. These are bad faith actors who are harming the United States both at home and abroad; it is in American interest to bring them to justice. But will the US go that far?

From the vault: What is genocide? Genocide is a term mentioned in media reports on conflicts around the world. It is a legal concept that has come to encompass a moral one as well. The legal concept of genocide can be applied to various modern day post conflict settings. As an expression of the worst of humanity, it is vital that we understand the origin of genocide, its purpose, and legal definition to prevent its misuse. Applying the term genocide to a conflict incorrectly can lead to problems when seeking redress through judicial mechanisms. It is important for us and victims to understand not all crimes or killings constitute a genocide, as there are certain criteria that must be met. However, when genocide is applied appropriately, the international community is obligated to investigate, prosecute, and prevent it.
