🔍🚐 Practical Example from the Caravan Industry with ASOM: Kinematics of a pop-up roof for a mobile home 🦾 In this video example, we take a precise look at the kinematics of a pop-up roof, which is often found in the caravan industry for camping vans and caravans. The gas spring is designed in such a way that the roof opens automatically. Depending on the prevailing temperature, different actuating forces are required to close it again (see coloured graphs). The mechanism used here is a scissor kinematics, which is a special case but can also be seen as a representative of the larger class of six-bar mechanisms. At the end position of the pop-up roof, the gas spring is fully extended. This and similar kinematics can also be found in access hatches and other roof pan types. Adding jet trails to the chainsaw jet engine great sword :) Method : Nothing special, just short lived tube shaped Niagara ribbons with a simple texture panning material. Neat trick : You can create time variation per Niagara emitter by passing the emitter instance seed into the shader time via dynamic parameters. In normal cases, you send per particle random data, but with ribbons, each particle in the emitter needs to have the same random value.
