You are hunting for an AE job at Expel, for example. Before interviewing with the hiring manager you should: Find out how they solve problems for their customers. Find out how they win. When they win. Why they win. When they lose. Why they lose. Who they lose to. What the ICP looks like and how they think. What the ICP’s biggest pains and struggles are and why Expel is the best option for them when it is the best option. What does the team at expel look like? Engineers? Inside sales? Delivery? Architects? Consultants? BDR’s? Growth of expel over the past year? Is this the first new hire for AE or the 30th this year? Get examples of wins they have had and study them. What does the open territory look like? Are there existing customers? Is it greenfield? After you have all this information (and there is more you could gather) you can now go to the hiring manager with confidence and deliver a value prop as to why you would be a good fit on the team. This entire process is called discovery and it is required to master if you want to win any business as a sales person. #InTheArena #ClosedWon
