It’s Sunday so that means I’ll be watching my Cleveland Browns play in Las Vegas.
But because I’m a nerd, this morning I’m also researching what it takes logistically to be a visiting team in the NFL. Every week there’s a massive logistical operation in the background ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
From coordinating airfreight for player gear, medical supplies, and training equipment, to ground transportation for players, coaches, and staff, each away game is a carefully planned operation. Hotels, meals, and meeting spaces must be arranged, often across multiple time zones. It’s a massive effort.
Whether it’s optimizing airfreight routes, managing travel schedules, or ensuring the right equipment is on the sidelines, logistics plays a critical role in ensuring teams can focus on the game, not the details.
As someone with a background in logistics, this has been a fun “rabbit hole” to go down. It’s a great reminder that successful teams aren’t just on the field – they’re also behind the scenes. Maybe they can play for the Browns cause we can’t get any worse.
