When we say we ‘lift the standards of reliability’ in our terminals worldwide, we mean we’re improving standardization, asset maintenance and supporting reliable supply chains. We do this because our customers, and their customers – even entire countries – rely on us to deliver. For example, at APM Terminals Callao, Peru, we handle 73% of the wheat, 54% of the corn and 100% of the barley that arrives in the country. By striving to continuously improve for our customers, we chose to invest over and above our contractual obligations in Peru by a full 40% more in Stage 3A of the Multipurpose North Terminal Modernisation Project. And there’s still more to come in Stage 3B when we will exceed our contractual obligation by 50%...watch this space, and find out more here: https://bit.ly/4cxxG1q

Senior VP Shipping @ Esgian | Leading Sustainability and Commercial Benchmarking for RoRo & MPP Industry
Gatekeepers of the Global Shipping Industry This month we introduced new and valuable functionality in both our RoRo and MPP product - Canal Analytics. Albeit cargo volume is the main driver for shipping demand, any restriction in vessel supply will play a major role in freight rate development. When vessels need to either wait (e.g. Panama) or take longer routes (e.g. Suez), you are effectively restricting vessel supply. This means tighter market as the global fleet will spend more vessel days in carrying same cargo volume. Not only is our clients able now to get deep insights in the development on a global scale - as we map each vessel to a commercial operator together with Hesnes Shipping AS (RoRo) and Toepfer Transport GmbH (MPP) you can also see developments per commercial operator. Once again, we're expanding our marine fuel supply operations in Brazil in collaboration with Bunker One. Starting this month, vessels will be able to refuel at the outer anchorage of Sepetiba in Rio de Janeiro, a strategic port for South Atlantic maritime routes. Sepetiba has the capacity to receive large ships, contributing significantly to international trade. Our goal is to deliver 20,000 tons of bunker fuel monthly in Sepetiba, meeting the needs of bulk carriers, large cargo ships, and the oil and gas industry. This is an attractive and efficient logistics alternative as it allows for refueling without docking, avoiding interference with loading and unloading operations at terminals. This new operation reinforces Acelen's commitment to providing fuel on a permanent and steadily growing basis, offering more options for our customers navigating the area. #energy #supply #globaltrade #energysecurity #navigation

while the total number of global terminal operators (GTOs) featuring in the Drewry league tables remained unchanged at 21 in 2023, the composition has changed significantly. The league tables that are a central feature in the latest edition of Drewry’s Global Container Terminal Operators Annual Review and Forecast now include Adani, AD Ports Group and Hapag-Lloyd AG, while the acquisition of SAAM Ports and Bolloré has removed these two companies from the rankings. The position of the largest global terminal operators (GTOs) at the top of the rankings has further strengthened, with the seven largest firms now handling over 40% of global port throughput on an equity-adjusted basis. https://lnkd.in/gkVCRrV8 PSA International or APM Terminals or DP World or Hutchison Ports Blog – Transportation Sector – Analysis and Commentary – April 2024 - https://lnkd.in/gZ4nbJYZ

During my time at this company, I have clearly observed how we are all growing together under a wise leadership, which will ultimately lead us to success and development.
We have awarded ZPMC contracts worth over AED 420 million to supply six ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and 17 hybrid rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes. These will be deployed at our terminal projects in New East Mole Terminal in Pointe Noire - Republic of the Congo, and Noatum Ports, Luanda Terminal in Angola. These agreements are in-line with our strategy for advanced development within emerging markets for mutual and sustainable economic growth. https://lnkd.in/dC8ktU-B
