Addressing Fertility Preservation in Oncologic Care: A Growing Imperative Cancer treatments can significantly impact male reproductive health, often leading to infertility. As a healthcare community, it's crucial to recognize fertility preservation as a critical component of survivorship care. While many male cancer patients can produce a semen specimen for preservation, alternative methods are necessary for those who cannot. The challenge is more significant for prepubertal boys and men without sperm production, where experimental approaches hold promise. We can integrate these practices into routine oncologic care. #FertilityPreservation #OncologyCare #Survivorship #HealthcareInnovation #krishnaivf For further reading :https://lnkd.in/gq7eHpbw

* CLINICAL TRIAL RECRUITING NOW * MALE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED !!! PLEASE SHARE Intermittent fasting is an emerging field with a growing range of health benefits including weight loss, better blood sugar regulation, improved hormone levels and a healthier gut. As time restricted eating (TRE) has a positive effect on many parts of the body, including female reproductive systems, there is potential that it could influence sperm production, however, this has not yet been investigated. This trial involves intermittent fasting for a period of 3 months and assessing sperm quality before and after to look for any changes. We would provide two free of charge semen analysis, plus MiOXSYS testing for seminal oxidative stress which would usually cost more than £500. https://lnkd.in/eTJBpqp8 Find out more from BCRM Fertility TRIAL LEAD SCIENTIST and SENIOR EMBRYOLOGIST JEN NISBETT by emailing research@bcrm.clinic or take a look at our website blog and information leaflet https://lnkd.in/e9a6KW4d #maleinfertility #researchanddevelopment #research #malefertility #menshealthawareness #timerestrictedeating #project #volunteersneeded #SpermHealth #spermtesting

Bladder Exstrophy Bladder exstrophy is a birth defect that affects the urinary system. It occurs when the bladder develops inside out and pushes outside the skin. Most babies with the condition need corrective surgery within the first few days of life. Children who receive treatment usually develop typically and don’t have activity restrictions. Causes 1. Family history: Adults who had bladder exstrophy as children have about a 1 in 70 chance of having a child with the condition. 2. Race: Bladder exstrophy is most common in white families. 3. Sex: Males are up to three times as likely as females to have bladder exstrophy. 4. Fertility treatments: Using assisted reproductive technology such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) can increase the risk of bladder exstrophy.
