PAX sapiens’ mission is to prevent predictable global catastrophes. We work to foster collective coordination for a more peaceful world. We focus on filling gaps by catalyzing coordination and collective action across the Philanthropic, Private, and Public sectors [P^3]. The PAX P^3 methodology galvanizes and connects philanthropy to the public and private sectors by addressing identified gaps in resources, capacities, and social functions. Our tools are grantmaking and direct engagement in programs that advance closer collaboration among leaders across the three sectors. #PAXP3 #publicprivatephilanthropy # #PhilanthropicLeaders #GrantmakingStrategy #GlobalCoordination

Exciting stuff coming out of Justice Funders lately! 🌏 A newly revised Resonance Framework shows how mainstream philanthropy can transform in support of a healthy, just economy and society. The co-facilitators of the JEDI Accelerator for Foundations (Hanifa Kassam, Tania Cheng and myself; hosted by Philanthropic Foundations Canada / Fondations philanthropiques Canada) have used this tool to help foundation board members and staff reflect and take action. The new version captures how foundations can funders can stop the bad, build the new and change the rules. ✊ https://lnkd.in/eAdiP5ca 💡 A new Liberatory Governance Community of Practice. Specifically for staff and board members working in philanthropic institutions. Running May 2024-March 2025. I'd totally do this if I could! How and why are Native American nonprofit leaders and communities being overlooked by the philanthropic sector? The Center for Effective Philanthropy’s report, “Overlooked (Part Two): Foundation Support for Native American Leaders and Communities” discovered a severe lack of Indigenous knowledge and meaningful relationships with Native Peoples. As one Native leader put it: “If you don’t understand the issue that you’re trying to impact, you’re not going to have very much impact.” We call on foundation funders to evaluate their current funding practices and take strides to redefine their approach to Native philanthropy in the following ways: ➡️ Create an informed grantmaking system by consulting with Native communities to foster deeper relationships. ➡️ Build stronger relationships with Native-led nonprofits by providing support for general operating grants and unrestricted funds. ➡️ Uphold research as a vehicle for change by applying Indigenous knowledge in both funding practices and evaluation measures.
