Influence begins with early involvement. Exactly—that’s spot on. We need to engage at the earliest stages, even during budget development. It’s critical to incorporate those “money boxes” into sourcing processes, renegotiations, or tools designed to secure better deals. Additionally, sharing some of this information with strategic suppliers can provide them with valuable visibility. When suppliers have this level of insight within the framework of a long-term contract, their cost-reduction opportunities translate into savings and cost-avoidance opportunities for us.
