You can now fund enhanced rock weathering carbon removal via the Ecologi Impact Shop 🎉 We’re pleased to be partnering up with UNDO to offer this new type of carbon removal project, which involves spreading crushed silicate rock (such as basalt) on agricultural land. When these rocks interact with rainwater, they gradually dissolve, capturing atmospheric CO2 and releasing beneficial nutrients and minerals into the soil. Join us on a virtual visit to one of UNDO’s sites in Stirling, Scotland, to find out more about the process and their mission to remove 1 billion tonnes of CO2. Your business can support carbon removal projects, such as enhanced rock weathering, on the Ecologi Impact Shop  👉https://lnkd.in/eJW5upeE #ForOurPlanet #ClimateAction #ClimateSolutions #EnhancedRockWeathering #CarbonRemoval

When it comes to places for communities to gather, what springs to mind? For many people in the UK, football clubs provide a really strong sense of community, with people bonding over both shared wins and losses! One football club in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, has been working together to bring back nature to their community. Crewe FC, with the support of International Tree Foundation (ITF) and Ecologi, is encouraging nature to return to areas of land around their club. Last winter, members of the youth and adult teams planted 5,000 native trees 🌳 Despite a very wet winter making planting difficult, we’re delighted to report that the survival rate of the trees after 6 months is a huge 97%! The trees will continue to receive care over the next few years to ensure healthy habitats are formed, creating a much-needed home for local wildlife. ITF’s monitoring protocol enables the Ecologi team to have a good insight into progress on the ground. This means that even though we can’t visit every site we support for ourselves, the information we get from our partners allows us to confidently track the success of the projects we’re funding. By harnessing GIS software, ITF shares with us the location, species and a photo of trees across sample plots being monitored, allowing our team to see what’s going on throughout the site 🙌 This process is a great example of the trust and transparency that exists between Ecologi and our partners in the UK, and all around the world. Check out this amazing before and after video of one of the reforestation projects we support! 🌱 These clips were taken by one of our very own team members on a visit to The Future Forest Company’s Dumyat site near Stirling. We’re working with The Future Forest Company to help reforest the 480ha estate, which sits within the beautiful Ochil Hills of Scotland. Over 340,000 trees have been planted as part of the project, and whilst there are seasonal differences between the two videos, you can clearly see the transformation of this site as the beginning of a wildlife-rich habitat as lots of new healthy trees start to form 🎉 Through carefully managed woodland creation and habitat restoration, our partners at The Future Forest Company are working hard to create a haven of nature to be enjoyed by wildlife, visitors and the local community. You can find out more about this project on our website 👉 https://lnkd.in/eH4nbby5 #ForOurPlanet #Reforestation #ClimateAction #ClimateSolutions #Restoration
