A 90-hour workweek isn't something to brag about.📌 The pandemic showed us what really counts! While we were stuck at home, no one said "I wish I was at the office more." Empty chairs at dinner tables hit harder than empty chairs at meetings. Here's the truth: 📍The mom leaving at 5 PM for family dinner? ↳ She's got her priorities straight. 📍The dad blocking his calendar for his kid's soccer game? ↳ That's real commitment. 📍The team member protecting their personal time? ↳ That's self-respect. And ridiculing people for spending time with their families? I don't think there's anything worst than that! Here's what they fail to understand: 📌Impact > Hours worked 📌Mental health > Burnout 📌Family time > Office politics Smart companies know: • Happy employees do better work • Well-rested minds make fewer mistakes • Work-life balance = Better results No one lies on their deathbed wishing they'd worked more overtime. Its time that such big companies understand what how progress and productivity becomes a joke when it's forced. PS: What do your thoughts on this? let's chat! #WorkLifeBalance #Leadership #CompanyCulture #MentalHealth #WorkplaceCulture

Quick bite..RIGHT TO DISCONNECT.....Someone who’s not paid 24 hours a day shouldn’t be penalized if they’re not online and available 24 hours a day.” The right to disconnect, to put it simply, is a right that allows a person to exist beyond the work that he has chosen to do. He is allowed to not entertain work-related matters outside of working hours and working space. #HR #Quickbite #ESG

Working 90 hours a week with low pay is tough, especially when it means putting in 15-hour days. 𝐋&𝐓 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧, I disagree with this approach. Let’s not forget—we’re humans, not machines. We have families, friends, and lives outside of work. Achieving a fair balance between work and personal life is essential, and so is fair compensation for the hours we put in. Let’s work together to create a healthier, happier environment where both employees and companies can thrive! #SNSubrahmanyan #90hours #WorkLifeBalance #CorporateLife #FairPay #EmployeeWellbeing #HumanNotMachine #WorkSmart #EmployeeRights #HealthyWorkplace #FairCompensation #LifeBeyondWork #WorkHappiness #ThriveTogether

#HRChallenges #WorkplaceWellness #EmployeeAttendance Hey everyone! 👋 I just wrapped up a session at this legal HR bootcamp, and something interesting popped up today that got me thinking. We talked about the intriguing term “MFers.” Now, before your minds wander—this isn't what you might expect! So, what are MFers? They’re basically the employees who magically “get sick” or have some kind of “emergency” on Mondays and Fridays. 🤔 You know the ones I mean! It’s like clockwork, right? Why does this happen? It’s a bit of a head-scratcher, but here are a few reasons I think might be behind this pattern: Long weekends – Some might want to sneak in a little longer break without using vacation days. 🏖️ Monday Blues – The start of the workweek can feel daunting; some might legit feel unwell or overwhelmed. 😩 Stress – Those who are struggling with workplace motivation might feel it more on Mondays and Fridays, leading to excuses. How does this affect us? Employee attendance is essential fo... How Can HR Tackle the Monday and Friday 'MFer' Syndrome? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gKC3FjJx

#mentalhealth #worklifebalance #90hours #WorkSmartNotHard #FairPay #Leadership We don’t need a 40-45 hour workweek—most of us already work around 65-70 hours a week without watching the clock (excluding commute time). But if 90 hours a week is what you’re aiming for, it’s simple: hire two people instead of turning one into Zombie. #morejobs #highproductivity #MentalHealthMatters

Do your employees also work too much or get too involved in projects? How do you manage the problem of employees working crazy hours and not saying NO to clients? Short-term employees are happy because more hours equals more money, clients are happy because impossible deadlines are delivered, and Excel is happy because higher invoices are generated. But it's just the tip of the iceberg. In the long term, this approach leads to burnout, health issues, and people quitting or needing a long holiday to recover. Exchanging people on the projects means time for onboarding, knowledge transfer, and a drop in performance anyway. How to find the balance? #hr #burnout #overwork #employee #employer

"Time Discipline Should Be a Two-Way Street" If an employee is 10 minutes late, they are questioned, sometimes even marked for a half-day deduction, and their discipline is doubted. I agree — timeliness matters. Employees should be punctual and respect office hours. But what about when companies make employees stay back after their shift for extra work, without compensation...? Or when they receive work calls after hours, disrupting their personal time...? Discipline and professionalism should be mutual. If companies expect employees to value time, they must do the same in return. "Respect isn’t just expected; it should be given too. A fair workplace values both time and effort." #WorkLifeBalance #EmployeeRights #FairWorkplace #RespectAtWork #TimeMatters #WorkCulture #EmployeeWellbeing #CorporateEthics #PunctualityGoesBothWays #MutualRespect

I'm still old school when it comes to reading newspapers. Probably one of the few who still subscribes to print papers. Sharing something interesting from today's read in FT. Across Europe, there's a political uproar about increasing working hours—short hours are apparently the true culprits behind the region’s economic woes. However, instead of just blaming short hours, maybe governments should also focus on boosting productivity of those already employed. Work-life balance sounds great and all, but it only matters if there's work to balance! #financialtimes #ft #productivitycrisis
