ARPA Members & Friends, Please consider joining ARPA and the Community Housing Partnership on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, to help rehab affordable housing units for homeless seniors, one unit at a time. Volunteers will be placing donated landscape rock around the property, planting greenery, setting up a drip system, and more. The issue of senior citizen homelessness is growing throughout our state, and the Arizona Rock Products Industry is committed to making an impact. This partnership is made possible by a generous material donation from Cemex and a trucking donation from Rock Solid. Register: https://lnkd.in/gjVU5f5E

Crisis, such as the tragic fires in and around Ruidoso, reveal the character of people and businesses. Such as the extreme leadership of MATI’s Godfrey Enjady working tirelessly with friends, such as PVT’s James Meyers, to restore vital communications within and outside of their own service areas. Or the local businesses working together to meet the needs of those impacted. Local businesses matter and will be there when needed. I so appreciate the efforts of PVT’s employees organizing this effort to bring supplies to those in need. Chris & Tabitha Davis , Cassie Florez , Daniel Rodriguez, SHRM-CP and Ross Horner.
PVT would like to thank people in our communities for dropping off donations, and special thanks to Oasis Christian Fellowship in Carlsbad. Last night, PVT employees delivered the first truckload to the Mescalero Community Center. Two more truckloads to follow.

In a special edition of this week's newsletter, LBC wants to shoutout new and unique stories from our material donors! Every year hundreds of organizations, individuals, partners and collaborators donate reusable items that LBC can then give back to our West End community - and this week is no different! We would like to send a shoutout to Atlanta Housing for donating a variety of antique cabinet sets that have been put to amazing use in our community. Through LBC's partnership in deconstructing facilities in East Lake Highrise, a senior living residence, we were able to salvage these materials which otherwise would have gone to landfills. For instance, two five-piece sets are in the process of being utilized by a client - who is a residential contractor in Atlanta's West End (30310) - to provide sustainable upgrades to affordable housing initiatives in West End neighborhoods. Without Atlanta Housing Authority's generosity and assistance, this would not have been possible. Together as a community we can make a difference and work in tandem for a common cause. #togetherwecan #sustainablereuse #reuse #workforgood #nonprofitwork #nonprofit

In five short years, we have achieved a success rate of 97% with sponsored tenants either renewing their leases through Lotus or living independently in other housing. We know that the longer tenants stay in housing, the less likely it is that they will become unhoused again. Get involved today by donating, signing up for our newsletter, and educating yourself on the myths about homelessness. https://lnkd.in/diiBersP

One day what we call sustainability will just be called "business" | Author: Managing Sustainability: First Steps to First Class
I am reminded of the saying 'waste is a verb, not a noun.' The environmental and social benefits of this are immeasurable - but they are quantifiable. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - also requires 'Rethinking' - how can this be used? By whom? Can it be useful in it's current form? Modified? Or recycled into new products. Landfill should be the last resort. #circularity #waste Installnet
WMAR-TV in Baltimore featured our decommission project for MOI, with a great message: Don’t dump, donate. MOI is remodeling its roughly 13,000 square foot showroom and wanted to be sure all the wonderful furniture stayed out of landfill. Some of it went to employees, some of it was sold, and multiple truck loads of desks, chairs, tables, sofas, cabinets and more were donated to eight different nonprofits and community groups. Keeping furniture in circulation helps the environment and the community, allowing everyone to thrive. Together, we’re getting zero done. #circularity MillerKnoll Bridges Baltimore Black Women Build - Baltimore Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland Anne Arundel County Public Schools https://lnkd.in/eqAA6VBT
