Did you know that prior to July 4th ,1776, writing was not necessary in most professions, so writing was not taught in schools. By the time the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence, teaching writing was much more common. Schools had no papers, pens, or pencils, and since pencils had not yet been invented, most students worked on slates–mini-chalkboards. Chalk was used until whiteboards took off in 1975 after the dry-erase marker was invented. Whiteboard and glassboards are now a primary application in schools, and we attribute these fantastic tools to the inventors of their time. From all of us here at #arizonafurnishings, we wish you a happy and safe Independence Day. #chalkboards #whiteboards #dryerase #dryeraseboard #classroomfurniture #schoolfurniture #independenceday
