A recent Forbes article highlights that OB/GYN is one of the medical specializations with the highest rates of malpractice lawsuits; as of 2022, 62.4% of OB/GYNs had been sued at some point in their career. These lawsuits often result in substantial settlements, which a 2024 article noted could exceed $200,000 per year. Reducing the risk of malpractice lawsuits for hospitals and physicians is where the #LapBox comes in.
