Work on the EcoMonitoring State Information System continues under the Integrated Environmental Quality Monitoring System federal project. The system is expected to present on a single site data from 23 types of monitoring, including permafrost's geotechnical monitoring. The system will be used to model and forecast climate change to favor trouble-free operation of infrastructure facilities in permafrost areas that occupy more than half of the country. About the Eastern Economic Forum The Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) runs on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok on September 3-6, 2024. The main theme in 2024 is "Far East 2030. Combining strengths to create new potential." EEF 2024 business activities are broken down into seven thematic blocks: "New contours of international cooperation," "Technologies to ensure independence," "Financial system of values," "the Russian Far East," "People, education and patriotism," "Transport and logistics: new routes," and "Master plans: from architecture to economy." The event's organizer is the Roscongress Foundation. TASS is the general information partner. (Part Two, The End) #business #finance #financialservices

To the greater community - your knowledge and ideas needed to aid ARPA-E, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) as we consider novel approaches and innovative methods that can accelerate the exploration and characterization of critical mineral deposits in the subsurface. The energy transition and shifting strategic security issues make it imperative that we find economically viable mineral resources that can be accessed to address the environmental/social/financial concerns of the transition to clean energy. All ideas, from all regions are valuable, as this is truly a global challenge.

Delighted to share my latest paper, with some recommendations on strengthening our maritime-industrial base - not just shipbuilding, but also ports, services, innovation, and offshore energy. Looking at the future through a maritime rather than simply a naval lens is vital!
Read the latest Primer from the Sea Power Laboratory 👇 ⚓ ‘HM Government should grasp the considerable opportunities to rejuvenate the whole British maritime-industrial base, from shipbuilding to ports to offshore energy and beyond,’ argues Emma Salisbury, our Research Fellow You can read the full Primer here: https://lnkd.in/eXw-RhqK #Primer #SeaPowerLaboratory

This is a very thoughtful and interesting piece of work by the UK on the resources below of feet, homes and businesses. For those that have followed my interest in Digital Twins, I think you’ll find this a compelling piece of thought leadership that supports the argument that government has an essential role to play in establishing the rules and removing the barriers for these resources to be responsibility managed. The alternative in inelegant transfer of wealth that rewards incompetence. #DigitalTwin #Utilities
We’ve just published a new Foresight report, ‘Future of the subsurface.’ This Foresight project aims to support the resilience of government policy by exploring future challenges and opportunities for subsurface management in the UK. Foresight projects take a cross-cutting issue, summarise the evidence and explore future possibilities. They give evidence to policymakers to help them create policies that are more resilient to the future. Check out the report here: https://lnkd.in/egiG9Qtw

This provides an important insight in that the transition to #NetZero is going to require more use of the sub-surface. See for example today's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero announcements around CCUS.

Geoscience Australia has extended its NPIC agreements with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads, RTKNetwest, and Aptella, ensuring continued open access to 122 CORS across Australia. As Geoscience Australia states, these extended agreements "demonstrate our commitment to maintaining and enhancing national positioning infrastructure, benefiting industry professionals and the wider community." This initiative fosters innovation, improves operational efficiency, and supports the growing demands of the geospatial sector, particularly for surveying. https://buff.ly/4bArUKY
