Since then, we have grown into a cooperative with more than 8,000 farmer owners across 7 European countries. And here are some of them👇😊

We are very honored to be closing out 2023 by celebrating our 25th anniversary in service of our clients in the Fox River Valley, the Midwest, and as we grow as a member of the #triballyownedBodwé Professional Services Group, nationwide. We have deep roots within northeast Illinois, having strategically created our headquarters in St. Charles to complete project work across Kane County and greater #Chicagoland. Since being founded in 1998, WBK has expanded our capabilities and professional services we offer, grown our list of trusted clients whom we serve, and continue to grow both in firm size and geographic reach, especially after being acquired by Mno-Bmadsen and later joining 7GAE as members of the Bodwé Group.
We’ve hit many strategic milestones, including being given Small Business Association 8(a) status and recently earning DBE certification in Illinois, which in turn has allowed the firm to obtain several contracts with Federal agencies, and to join teams who were selected for projects under the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Professional Transportation Bulletin (PTB) 209. We are honored to have such a storied history and to be heading into yet another year surrounded by a team of professionals who as individuals, are the reason for our every success over the past quarter-century. We look forward to the next 25 years of continued prosperity in support of the mission of Bodwé Group to grow the economy and legacy of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi.

In this week’s blog I discuss the uncertainty in the Easter forecast, the increased likelihood of a cold end to March and the impact on aeration and growth.
I discuss how we have already passed the 130 cumulative GDD mark this year, a key agronomic market for Poa annua seedhead development, however…….

#Beekeeping plays a significant role in both biodiversity conservation and livelihood enhancement. Here’s an overview of its contributions to these areas:
#Pollinators: Bees are essential pollinators for many plants, including a vast number of crops and wild flora. By supporting bee populations, beekeeping directly contributes to the pollination of diverse plant species, which is crucial for maintaining ecosystem health and biodiversity.
#PlantReproduction: Effective pollination leads to the production of seeds and fruits, facilitating the reproduction of plant species and the sustenance of wildlife that depends on these plants.
#NaturalHabitats: Beekeeping encourages the preservation of natural habitats and floral diversity. Beekeepers often advocate for the protection of areas rich in floral resources, which in turn supports broader ecological networks.
#ForestConservation: In regions where forests are under threat from agricultural expansion or logging, beekeeping provides a sustainable alternative income. This reduces pressure on forests, aiding in their conservation.
#Education and #Outreach: Beekeeping raises awareness about the importance of bees and the threats they face, such as habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate change. This can lead to increased environmental stewardship and conservation actions among communities.
#HoneyProduction: Honey is a valuable product that can provide significant income for beekeepers. This is particularly important in rural areas where alternative income opportunities may be limited.
#Byproducts: Beekeeping also yields other marketable products such as beeswax, propolis, royal jelly, and bee pollen, which can diversify income streams.
#CropYields: Enhanced pollination from managed bee colonies can lead to improved crop yields and quality. This is particularly beneficial for farmers growing fruit, vegetable, and nut crops, leading to increased food security and income.
#JobCreation: Beekeeping generates employment opportunities not only for beekeepers but also for those involved in the processing and marketing of bee products. This can have a positive impact on local economies, especially in rural communities.
#EnvironmentalSustainability: Beekeeping is a sustainable agricultural practice that requires minimal land and resources. It can be integrated with other farming activities, promoting sustainable land use and reducing reliance on intensive agricultural practices.
#ComplementarySystems: Beekeeping can be integrated with agroforestry and permaculture systems, where the presence of bees enhances the productivity and resilience of these farming systems through improved pollination.
#SocialBenefits: Beekeeping projects often involve community-based approaches, fostering cooperation, knowledge sharing, and community empowerment. This can strengthen social cohesion and collective efforts towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
