My point is....many of you are trying to rethink your career path. Your current one is experiencing layoffs, you are in a job you hate, you are under-employed.....the list goes on. another day, another useless interaction that produced nothing... I apply for a groundskeeper job listed in the city I reside in, the job listed work detailing property management and was vague as hell like any other job listing. I place the app yesterday morning and I'm called back the same morning I put the app in (usually means someone quit and they are screwed for workers) so I get a call and then I'm asked to do a job I didn't apply with duties I'm unable to fulfill that entails me owning a vehicle and driving it all over multiple cities and requiring me to manage a bunch of properties. usually 5-6 people doing this work for the company but 2 people quit recently and one guy moved to Wyoming to work on a ranch suddenly.(I'm jealous, I would take similar work) Then the guy wants me to meet him in a hotel lobby that the company manages because their offices are 20-30 miles away. during this whole interaction, this guy basically either refuses to listen to me when I ask questions and then pushes a job on me I don't want. then he texts me this morning and says he needs to meet earlier so he can take his kid to little league practice. now my BS meter is red-line again because I'm applying for job and I've been lied to in the listing, not listened to when I ask questions, I've had smoke blown up my rear end because this guy is complimenting a resume that gets rejected thousands of time and his shtick is not genuine, plus he's pushing me into a job that requires me to commute 30-40 miles to an office that wasn't advertised and if some guy up and moves to Wyoming, this job isn't worth the time in my humble opinion. I texted the guy back and told him best of luck, let's not waste either of our time and blocked his number because I don't care what he has to say but I'm not going to hang him out to dry when his kid has little league, even if his dad lied to me a bunch of times. who says I'm not a nice guy? #jobs #applicationprocess #work #jobhunt #interviewprocess #jobhunt2024 #jobmarket #justanotherwastedday
