ARM Member and partner Catalyst Connection (the Pittsburgh region's MEP) is seeking input on training programs that they are developing for the SW Pennsylvania region! Catalyst Connection is doing this through two targeted surveys: ➡ Employment Demand Study: This survey is designed for HR professionals and aims to capture a comprehensive picture of the future employment needs within the manufacturing sector. Your responses will help Catalyst understand the evolving demands for various roles and positions, ensuring that they can better support workforce planning and development. You may complete the survey here: https://lnkd.in/e44ChqYn ➡ Training Needs Assessment: Catalyst invites supervisors, plant managers, and industry leaders to participate in this survey to pinpoint the exact skills required across different employment levels. By identifying these needs, they can tailor their training programs and funding initiatives to provide the most relevant and impactful support. You may complete this survey here: https://lnkd.in/eVSGfrDS These surveys should take around 10 minutes to complete and will be used to inform offerings that will also leverage Catalyst Connection's Pittsburgh facility at Mill 19, in which the ARM Institute is also located.

Should employers actively support the professional development of their employees? Savvy workers recognize that their current skills have a limited shelf life, necessitating continuous learning to stay ahead. This is due to the rapid pace of technological advancement, economic fluctuations, and other external factors reducing the longevity of professional skills. Personal development is crucial not only for navigating the aftermath of the pandemic but also for facing the challenges that lie ahead for both organizations and their employees. The key lies in finding the right equilibrium between fostering a positive learning culture and addressing future business requirements. Reports suggest that companies achieving this balance tend to experience higher levels of staff retention, job satisfaction, and overall morale. Offering learning opportunities to employees is essential for keeping them engaged and happy. However, this learning process should be self-directed, tailored to individual interests and career aspirations, and not imposed from above. This approach prevents individuals from feeling like they've lost control over their professional development and career paths. Instead, learning should be a joint effort that considers both the needs of the business and the personal ambitions of the employee. Fortunately there are many funding resources available for employers who would like to offset the cost of training. Employers may be eligible for up to $300,000 per year in government grants. Securing the Brightest Minds in STEM to Propel Ambitious Businesses forward 🚀 | MD at Dynamic Minds Recruitment🧑💼 | Neurodiversity Champion🧠🌈♾️
Do you have your house in order?🏭 It is impossible to retain 100% of your existing talent all the time. However, most businesses can and should do more to keep their workforce engaged and thriving. 🤩🕺💃 My fellow recruiters will probably disagree with me on this😂 , but it is certainly more cost effective and less hassle to nurture and invest in existing talent compared to onboarding a new employee 🤷 Yes, there will inevitably be instances where new talent needs to be brought in to fill specific gaps or bring in new skills. It's about striking the right balance and recognising the value of both internal growth and new talent. ⚖️ If you are looking to partner with an external recruitment specialist, I would recommend you choose a consultancy who is invested in the long-term success of your organisation 🙋♂️🙃 #peopleoverprofit #stemcareers #talentretention Dynamic Minds Recruitment

Did you know: In the US, there is only one registered human factors specialist for every 700 certified engineers? Why does this matter?
