If you've been initiated and indoctrinated in to the world of Executive Protection and Corporate Security you quickly realize that the threat isn't a two-dimensional, paper target, down range waiting to be engaged. Threats are active. They are calculating the risk and measuring the cost. Our job is to be seen. Actively engaged in our environment looking for people who seek to cause harm to those we are trusted to care for. Somethings to consider: Observation - Set a baseline for the area in and around your post. Assist your team's understanding of the atmospherics and the people you work with and for. Understand what is considered normal behavior for the environment. Orientation - Employ your team based on their strengths. Teach them to spot anomalies. Engage your environment proactively and systematically. Consider the possible risks to your client and how to mitigate them. Decisiveness - Develop your team so that all have the capacity and the knowledge to engage their environment in a proactive, initiative based, mindset; capable of leading and taking decisive control of any crisis if they should arise. Action - Test your emergency action plans and note short falls. Train all new team members to the same standard and engage them intellectually in the daily responsibilities of their duties. Remember: Standard Operating Procedures are written in blood. Mistakes like these are expected when the client doesn't want to pay for quality professionals. 🔔 The Cycle of Incitement: The Writing is on the Telegram Wall As the Israel-Hamas War continues to unfold, a significant surge in incitement has been disseminated on social media, particularly Telegram channels of extremists in the West Bank. In a recent research by Dr. Eitan Azani, Director of Research at the International Institute for Counter Terrorism (ICT), and Ms. Daniel Haberfeld, Co-Head of the Cyber-Terrorism Desk at the ICT, several Telegram channels have been identified as being linked to Hamas and the PIJ. These channels not only disseminate provocative content but also actively promote and encourage violent actions against Israel, carrying out, among others, shooting attacks. The content includes detailed operational guidance in videos and posts, providing instructions for carrying out such attacks. Additionally, emotionally charged videos and glorification of past attacks are utilized to mobilize individuals and small groups, fostering a mindset conducive to violence and resistance. The range of content varies from animated posters to videos depicting attack scenarios, all with the aim of inciting violence against Israel.
