Smoother operations with the support of #ArtificialIntelligence: Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU), operated by Fraport Slovenija, is the latest airport to optimize its turnaround performance with innovative technology from software developer Assaia – The ApronAI. This is an important cornerstone for the remaining airports across the Fraport portfolio. Assaia uses a combination of computer vision and #AI to monitor every aspect of the turnaround process. ✈️🔄 The resulting data is integrated into the airport, airline and ground handlers’ systems, providing real-time information through a dashboard, including tailored alerts, as well as reports which highlight areas for long-term improvement. "We are optimizing all our processes on the apron to shorten the time each aircraft needs to be on the ground, which benefits both our passengers and our airline partners", says Claus Grunow, Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Digitalization at Fraport. "This is a common issue across our airports and we are talking to all of them about this technology." Inflight a-la-carte content programming is coming in the next 5 years. Chris Insall: Maintaining the quality of service across disparate services thats the challenge. Michael Pigott: In LEO networks we see an absolute revolution happening, we don‘t see that in GEO networks yet. Stephen Rice: Stellar Blus’s goal is to drive cost out of the product so that airlines can make more revenue. Edwin Edillon Jr.: One of the best ways to offset connectivity costs is to use ads. Dr. Joe Leader: I‘ve yet to get on a flight where the connectivity is perfect end-to-end. Airtran usecase: They were one of the first airlines to offer inflight booking of their flights with a discount. This business model was successful. Despite that success, I can‘t think of an airline today that offers the possibility of booking the next flight onboard with discount, wouldn‘t that be the best environment to offer such a service?
