In our collaboration with Konvi as art investments expert we launched this time imperial art. Investing in established blue-chip artists is generally considered safer. These artists have a proven track record of demand and stable or increasing value over time. Works by artists such as Claude Monet or Vincent van Gogh, for instance, are likely to be more resilient to market fluctuations due to their historical significance and enduring demand.

Investment Potential of 19th-Century Art From an investment perspective, 19th-century art is particularly compelling due to its relative undervaluation in the market. Despite the critical roles these artists played in shaping the direction of Western art, their works are often available at prices that are more accessible than those of their more famous successors like the Impressionists. For example, while a painting by Monet can sell for millions, influential precursors like Jongkind, who directly influenced Monet, can be acquired for much more reasonable sums. This pricing discrepancy highlights a significant opportunity for growth, as the market gradually corrects these imbalances in recognition and value. Investing in Art: How to determine if the price is adequate? It seems clear that in order to make a profit: buy at a lower cost and sell at a higher price. But how can you know if the price is adequate? There are two approaches to valuing art: the first is market valuation. This is used to assess works by well-known artists, for which there is existing auction and gallery sales data. At artprice.com we can see the last time and price at which an artist's paintings were sold. But what if the artist is not well-known, making it difficult to find sales information about them? For this scenario, there is a second approach - parametric valuation, which forms the basis of ArtMost's online calculator. The calculator indicates which paintings are good for investment by comparing the offered price of a painting with its estimated value.
