“Participants also had to identify as an "artist, culture bearer, or culture maker," which could include practicing crafts, dance, design, filmmaking, literary arts, theater, music, or oral tradition. The participant's work was not evaluated based on merit.” I identify as all three. “Not evaluated on merit:” this a BRILLIANT framing for what the creative & most sociable people in our world need from the Coorporate sector. There is this OVERWHELMING, artificial quality to modern Professional relationships that physically hurts. Stale interaction & mundane requests may have functioned well in the 21st century, but now the internet has young people flooded with “unprofessional content” constantly. Having the ability to disassociate from content & algorithms is surly a skill that would make someone hireable, however, because of the artificial nature of hiding that exposure, doesn’t immediately make the individual the best for the job. The most qualified is the most imaginative & the most enthusiastic to develop. The most sociable & most creative DESERVE more representation in NYC Burocratic Corporatocracy.

Some time ago, even before audio-reactive and automated synchronization of audio and video information became possible, I did it manually in an audio editor. Honestly, I still sometimes indulge in this custom analog approach. This is part of the audiovisual development for a museum application aimed at bringing contemporary art paintings to life. Point your phone at it, and voilà! That these were the first experiments in this field many years ago. And do you usually use a washing machine, or do you sometimes trust your hands more? #sounddesign #digitalart #musicproduction #bvoice #audiovisual #museum #application #manually_synchronisation #sound_production

'Calling all Creatives' Creativity...what comes to mind when you think of the word? Maybe artists, designers, musicians? Now look within, to your inner creative... how well exercised are they? Do you let them play out frequently with gleeful abandon...serving up ideas, options and adaptations everywhere you go? Is your inner creative a little more restrained (though nonetheless present), listening, getting curious, asking insightful questions of your audience... Perhaps somewhere in the middle? A collaborator skilled at getting the best from others or a maximiser skilled at taking others ideas to the next level? No matter where you sit, we are all part of the same beautiful spectrum of creativity and there is a place for all of our particular creative skills. Be proud of your creativity and don't box it off by not recognising or downplaying how it shows up for you. Creativity is not restricted to 'creative' pursuits. Being creative is a mark of how adaptable and resilient you are in real life and not the sole preserve of 'artists'. #weareallcreative

Engaging the audience is often an important element in an artist's work. That doesn't mean it always happens, but sometimes the exchange of ideas is important for development. Which of the two images do you prefer? Click here to learn more: https://buff.ly/3Ogi7AL #support #artists

Building Direct to Fan Businesses In Music . Founder of Secret Secret Sessions (10M views & 100s of artist clients)
Over the past 5 years I have asked the same question to over 1,000 artists. It surprises me that this is still their response... Me: ''What's your main goal right now?'' Them: ''To be signed by a Record Label'' There's still a huge misconception about what a Record Deal actually is amongst the artist community. These are the facts to remember: What a record deal isn't: ·Free money ·The easy route ·Guaranteed success What a record deal is: ·A loan ·Business contract ·Added pressure Building a Direct-to-Fan artist career means you are in full control of your business and own the relationship between you and your fans. There is no better way to do it in 2024.

How to avoid creative blocks as an artist: 1) Find a new creative outlet. ( it can be as small as watching a video on how to do something) 2) get your mind off what it is you’re working on by going for a walk . 3) create it regardless of how you think it will turn out.

When was the last time you were Wildly Creative? Making time for creative play and exploration gives your brain something magical. It is better than rest. It is refreshing, inspirational and gives you energy. Creative play is a regenerative practice you need. To be able to put down your thoughts and any ideas of purpose and come and play. Wild Art Journaling is a facilitated, (yet utterly free) creative practice that can unlock your creative spirit and make you feel good. I know that it is so hard to make time for your creativity, even if you love it. That is what Wild Artists Club is for. To carve out and commit to that time; to gift yourself the magic of creative play and share that time with other beautiful creative beings. Normally this is a members only thing. I have a small and delightful group of committed Wild Artists who join me every week which I love. But the next session, 28th Jan, is free, so come and try and and see for yourself. Sunday 10am -11.30am UK time Membership thereafter it is £44 pcm or £20 to drop in. (I do have a student rate, just ask) Sign up to my mailing list to get yourself the invite https://lnkd.in/dEHD8mS #creativeblock #play #regenerativeleadership #regenerativedesign #creativeplay #otherworlding #unblockcreativethinking #designagency #creativeandcultural #culturaltransformation #culturalintelligence #culturechange #creativeleadership

In the industry, it's common to hear, "We don't have the budget for this project." My first question is, why even start the project then? We wouldn't say this at a restaurant: "I want to have lunch, but I don't have the budget." Or at a car showroom: "I want this car, but I don't have the budget, just give it to me."So why in media projects do people tend to say these lines? It's because they believe the person in front of them is vulnerable and can be exploited for work. It's not about the budget; it's about taking advantage of others. In a populous country, producers know they can always find a substitute for any artist. However, when an artist works for less pay, their motivation is low, and the quality of their work suffers. This results in a poor outcome, which ultimately is a loss for the producer, though they often don't realize this even after experiencing multiple flops.
