ICArEHB associated student, Grace Ellis, recently co-edited a book, "Infrastructure in Archaeological Discourse", that explores the important interface between archaeology and infrastructure studies. The compiled chapters provide archaeological case studies from a variety of different social, temporal, and geographic contexts that critically examine what infrastructure is, how it can materialize, and how it impacts and reflects human behavior, social organization, and identities in the past, as well as the present. “Archaeology is unique,” says Grace, “because it offers a global, long-term, material perspective of infrastructure that highlights the various ways it can emerge and influence society.” More info: https://lnkd.in/d2H72pRt

This was a great project to be involved in, learning from Dr. Will Megarry and Dr. Cathy Daly about the process of evaluating climate change risk, a process that is limited by access to climate data and site specific data - this study is the first step of a longer methodology of more in depth analysis of climate change risk for these culturally important sites. #climatechange #culturalheritage
