Dear friends and colleagues
I did some research and wrote a BA thesis connected to
"Redefining the luxury: from product to experience."
I am deeply interested in the evolution of luxury and I have noticed a considerable shift in what we as consumers consider to be luxurious today. For example, when I think of a luxury experience, I picture something that is a little more special and valuable than an ordinary experience. I think that luxury is no longer just about the high price one pays for a good or its ownership. It is about the experiences that you can not touch or hold onto forever.
Shortly about my studies:
I am studying Design: Trends and identity at
ZHdK Zürcher Hochschule der Künste -
The outcome of that is art/creative director. It's a pretty comprehensive design course where we study a little bit of everything but focus really on building an identity and research trends. Theory is a little part of the BA. Now there will be a practical part, I already know what I will be working on and it's connected to raisin awarness on food consumption and slowing down, where we bring people together, If you are interested in following and you might be interested in being part of it, feel free to follow it on Instagram:

It will happen in Switzerland but hopefully we will come to Estonia this summer too. If you have interest in participating, collaborating or helping us come to Estonia, feel free to let me know.
In brief about the thesis, it's clear that the rise of importance of experiences is definitively the future, however, they cannot exist without tangible products or physical elements. This ties deeply into the rapid pace of life today, the digitalization of society, the economic downturns leading to a perceived impoverishment, and the advent of the sharing economy.
For instance, the modern convenience of renting cars, bikes, or even luxury clothing rather than owning them outright speaks volumes, particularly when outright ownership might not even be feasible.
Additionally, the concept of 'small luxuries', like spending 7€ on a coffee, resonates strongly with younger people. If I could have more time for research and analysis to extend my work, I would write about "time as a luxury".
If you are interested in reading the work, write me a message in direct message I would gladly share it with you privately.
Have a great start of the week!
