    How lucky we were to have an amazing back wall canvas to work our graphical magic on this year at #BLE24 with The British Museum stand. Designed, produced and installed by our friends at Planarama Ltd, the stand featured an Instagram photo booth frame complete with props, distinct zones highlighting the different licensing programmes the Museum runs and display units showcasing a selection of their beautiful products inspired by our style guides.    We loved working with Planarama and seeing how they brought this all to life, right from concept to set-up. We’re working with the Museum on developing the character and its brand extensions into logos, packaging and style guides.     Ahead of Skew’s MD, Oliver Dyer attending Leaders Week we’re highlighting some of our favourite fashion first sports collaborations. Arsenal F.C has teamed up with ARIES ARISE, a luxury streetwear brand, to launch its first independent streetwear collection. This limited-edition drop merges the heritage of North London’s iconic football club with the bold, fashion-first aesthetic Aries is known for. The collection features 26 standout pieces, from reimagined jersey tracksuits and graphic tees to luxurious wool bomber jackets, all with bespoke graphics paying homage to Arsenal’s rich history. Key figures like legendary manager Herbert Chapman and life president Ken Friar are immortalised within the designs, while Aries reinterprets classic Arsenal symbols—like the iconic cannon—through their unique lens. The collection not only celebrates Arsenal’s legacy but also makes a bold statement in the fashion world, with bespoke graphics like “1886,” the club’s founding year, and a collaboration spirit that speaks to the unity of the “Arsenal Faithful.” As football continues to up its fashion game, Arsenal’s partnership with Aries shows how brands can elevate their identity by blending their heritage with bold, contemporary fashion trends.     Creativity is the spark that ignites fandom.     During our latest Skew haul we were super proud to spot our work in store at The Abbey Road Shop 🤩 Dedicated to the creatives of tomorrow, the ‘Little Legends’ collection is born from the idea of Abbey Road Studios as a place that inspires, educates and sparks creativity. With loud patterns, bold colours and references to the digi-inspired trend, glitchcore, we wanted to create something that celebrated the sense of fun, freedom and spontaneous expression that comes with childhood. Using slogans inspired by the parallels between children and artists, we created a collection that brought out the fun behind the science of sound. Speaking about the wider work we’ve done with the studio Jeremy Huffelmann, General Manager at Abbey Road Studios said, “You have taken the vision and the storytelling that we outlined in our meeting all those months ago and created something really special, with designs that are beyond anything that we could have imagined.” Keep your eyes peeled for a full case study on our collaboration with the Abbey Road team coming soon.     One week on from #BLE24, we still can’t quite believe all the attention our Not Just Colouring In creative community received! How it started… After many (MANY) conversations with creative professionals over the years about how the licensing industry works, we noticed a recurring theme. Creative goes in, profit comes out, and with so much in-between, it’s sometimes hard to connect the two. The creatives do the ‘colouring in’, the suits present it, make the deals, and collect the awards. It isn’t personal, it’s just how it is. So, we got to thinking: what if there was another way? How it’s going… We launched the Not Just Colouring In Survey at the beginning of last year with a goal of getting 100 responses. After smashing that goal, we dug into the data. From crunching the numbers, we produced the NJCI 2024 report in the spring and decided to throw a little launch party in Soho. We presented our findings, offered recommendations for the future, hosted a panel of four industry experts, and had a free bar (we know the way to a creative’s heart 😉). What the future looks like… We are making the NJCI survey an annual activity. We want to keep an eye on how the industry is changing and aim to increase the diversity of respondents to ensure we’re getting the full picture. We will also be hosting another invite-only event before Christmas. This creative community get-together will be exclusively for NJCI members.
