The aim of the awards is to recognise exceptional Africans that have made an outstanding contribution towards the realisation of African self-determination, dignity and exceptionalism. Due to the nature of African problems, A.G.A recognise the impact of lack of problem solving skills, tedious processes and costly methods of commerce and social resourcing and mobilisation. Exceptional skills are needed to emancipate Africa and her people fully. In order to qualify for an A.G.A, a nominee has to meet certain criteria, specifically relating to one or more of problem solving, global competitiveness, self-love and patriotism. Performance needs to be determined as being indubitably extra-ordinary to warrant genius status. Winners receive an award. https://lnkd.in/dZQXPmRp

International Keynote Speaker | President PSANZ | NZ Educator of the Year | Mental Health First Aid Instructor
Find out more about how to grow you Professional Speaker business by being part of a nationwide and global organisation that encourages, supports and inspires - Professional Speakers Association of NZ - PSANZ!
🌟Monica Moore our Immediate Past President answers the question: Why am I a member of Professional Speakers Association of NZ - PSANZ ? 'PSANZ are my speaking whanau. Because of the support, guidance and opportunities I’ve had from this fabulous association I have been able to achieve far more than I ever thought of. My boundaries were pushed, my horizons widened and before I start to sound even more like a country song, I’ll also say that, like any organisation the resources are there but the work still needs to be done. I’m proud to have won two national awards, to have had the opportunity to lead the organisation of three Speaker Summits and facilitate our first Trailblazers book authored by 24 of our members and won an International Book Excellence award for best coffee table book. I am on the Board and led the association for two years as President. Because PSANZ is part of the Global Speakers Federation, I’ve attended conventions in Melbourne and Orlando and have spoken at Conventions in Delhi, Perth and Singapore. I have Professional Accreditation and my next goal is to become a CSP - I’m just over halfway and determined to succeed and be one in ten million.'

Australians from all over the country, with different backgrounds and contributions to their community, are recognised in the Order of Australia. And with that in mind, it’s likely there is someone in your life who deserves it, too. Recognition doesn’t happen unless someone takes the time to nominate. The process is simple and help is available. Head to the Australian Honours and Awards section of the Governor-General’s website at this link, https://bit.ly/3W3BJwF, with information including; 1. The nominees name and contact details; 2. Your name and contact details; 3. A description around why they deserve recognition; and 4. At least two referees; And nominate a deserving person you know. Your nomination is the beginning of the process. After it is submitted, an independent case officer in the Australian Honours and Awards Secretariat begins researching the nominee, before they are presented to the Council of the Order of Australia. It won’t be judged on the quality of writing, and you don’t need to know everything about the person you are nominating. It is good to include as much information as possible, even if it’s in dot point form. You can find suggested information to include and other helpful tips here: https://bit.ly/3wElHz4 To learn more about past recipients, their profiles are available to read here: https://bit.ly/3W32H7N Change someone’s life by nominating them today. Team Jesus |Sober| Certified Hackathon Facilitator |Marketing Person| Humanitarian |Peace First Ambassador | Child Education Advocate | SDG4 Advocate |YALI Fellow 2024 C48 🙏🏽💫🔥
My experience at YALI Regional Leadership Center West Africa, Accra was transformative particularly during a session that introduced us to the 7 Laws of Huna, ancient Hawaiian principles that empower individuals to create harmony within themselves and their surroundings. The seven principles include; 1. IKE- The world is what you think it is 2. KALA- There are no limits, everything is possible 3. MAKIA - Energy flows where attention goes 4. MANAWA - Now is the moment of power 5. ALOHA - To love is to be happy 6. MANA - Power comes from within 7. PONO - Effectiveness is the measure of truth. The above principles resonated deeply with me, as I realized I was already living by many of them. They emphasize the power of our thoughts, the importance of living in the present, and the need to cultivate love, kindness, and self-awareness. For me, life is a journey, where we each have our own guiding values to live in harmony. Just as we learn and grow in our careers, life itself is a journey of self-improvement, where we learn and evolve to become our best selves. I've come to understand that this journey begins with training our minds to think positively, be present, and strive for our goals. #YALI #C48 #LIFEPEINCIPLES #F2DPROJECT #LEADERSHIP #USAID

CHRO I Vice President ASEAN Human Development Organisation (AHDO) I Adjunct Professor I mentor I transformation I strategy I future of work I Six Sigma I Harrison I Clifton Strengths I doctoral candidate I
A humble Malaysian super-achiever. Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar once said to me, 'It's more important to be fair than to win. More important to do the right thing than to be right.' Ironic for a corporate chieftain, who at the time heading Malaysia's largest organisation in Bursa Malaysia, Maybank, which by common logic dictates that its CEO should deliver value to shareholders as the primary objective, besting the competition, be at the top of league tables. As I listen to his latest interview, he reminded me that humility and inclusivity are the differentiators between the good and the great. Profound gems are peppered throughout the 1 hour and 30 minutes discourse. Five that truly resonated for me: 1. Despite being able to afford the very finest things in life, it is not how much something is but its value. Even when spending within our means, it still doesn't mean we splurge unnecessarily. Burger and Lobster is as posh as he would go, Premium Economy is as far as he would push. 2. Equity is not equality. We cannot treat everyone equally because not everyone has the same access, same level of affordability, same opportunity. Whilst scholarships should be on merit, more critically is the consideration for the under privileged who otherwise may not be able to pursue a decent education, a key lever to break the poverty cycle. 3. Diversity and inclusions are sources of strength. On the spectrum of the corporate divide, GLCs, PLCs and MNCs, must be driven by equitable opportunities - everyone is provided with the opportunity to be equitably successful, both in business or employment. 4. Be humble but not be inferior. Be truthful and honest to ourselves, do the right thing, but this doesn't mean we are subservient. Sometimes we are too shy to articulate our position, but we mustn't - we need to be respectfully assertive. We dont need to be the typical aggressive, hard driving persona to be a successful CEO. 5. Consistently rely on fundamentals. Basic principles are often time insensitive- they hardly change over time. Both in how we run a business or invest in one, think long term - if we stick to the fundamentals, we will be resilient to short term turbulence and resistant to artificial distractions. I texted Tan Sri to thank him for sharing this interview and told him I have kept his principles close to heart, guiding my decisions up to this day. And for someone whom I have worked with close to a decade ago, I didn't expect a reply. But true to form, he did reply. 'Hi FT. Alhamdulillah I’m fine, thanks. I trust you are well too. Glad you find the interview meaningful. Thanks for your words of encouragement. May God bless you and family too. Best regards.' No one is too unimportant to reply to. A testament indeed to the man's humility.

The Australian Honours and Awards system celebrates individuals who make outstanding contributions locally, nationally and internationally. There is a lot of diversity within the recognition, but all Order of Australia recipients have one thing in common – someone nominated them for recognition. No one, no matter who they are or what they have done, can be recognised unless they are nominated. So, who can nominate, and who can be nominated? Anyone in the community can nominate someone for recognition. But, the people you nominate: - Must be alive at the time of their nomination - Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident - Have had no previous recognition by the Order in the last five years If you know someone who has gone above and beyond, start the process by filling out the nomination form. You can find it here: https://bit.ly/3W3BJwF Read more about previous recipients and their recognition at this link: https://bit.ly/3W32H7N Council for the Order of Australia #OrderofAustralia #AboveandBeyond #AustralianHonoursandAwards #Inspiring
