Some of the nation's poorest households spend up to 40 percent of their income on water and sewer bills. To address this rising affordability issue, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) created the first national water assistance program in history—the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP)—active until March of this year. Read our latest blog post, which discusses the need to establish a permanent federal assistance program for water and the steps sector leaders and policymakers such as Kishia L. Powell at WSSC Water, Tony Parrott at Louisville MSD, US Senator Alex Padilla, and many others are taking to guide our nation toward a more affordable water future. https://lnkd.in/gtZjPthM
