The results from the first week of the Joy-o-meter are in. This Donella Meadows quote helps explain why I think that the Joy-o-meter is important. "No one can define or measure justice, democracy, security, freedom, truth, or love. No one can define or measure any value. But if no one speaks up for them, if systems aren’t designed to produce them, if we don’t speak about them and point toward their presence or absence, they will cease to exist." Our current system with a focus on wealth accumulation is crushing the good bits of life, and making them absent. So, this is our collective's way of demonstrating that the things we're doing are more joyful. Our way of pointing towards its presence and existence. This week we stand at an average of 4.18 out of 5, meaning that the stuff we're doing at Re-Action, and our involvement in collective action is making us 'pretty joyful'.

What does it mean to be #OneBottlelessNation? It means aligning our businesses and charitable donations with companies and organizations that encourage the reduction of plastic waste and responsible living practices, all while addressing the clean water crisis that many communities face. Being One Bottleless Nation means coming behind these initiatives to help better our world both from an eco-friendly standpoint and a philanthropic one. To be a part of Bottleless Nation is to be a part of something that impacts the present and the future.

Tip Tuesday: Fall Wardrobe Refresh. Make Space for What You Love! 🍁 Fall is here, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to refresh your wardrobe and create space for what truly brings you joy! Here’s a great tip: If you haven’t worn it in the last year, it’s time to let it go. Free up space for cozy fall favourites and clear out what’s no longer serving you. 🍂 Start by sorting your clothes into three categories: 🔹 Keep 🔹 Donate 🔹 Recycle Imagine how much easier your mornings will be when your closet is filled only with items you love and wear. Plus, donating or recycling those extra pieces can help others in need and reduce waste. Here are my go-to places that I and my team regularly donates to: The Salvation Army in Canada and Mission Thrift Store. What’s the one item you know it’s time to part with? We are open for donations Mondays & Wednesdays from 10am - 3pm. Scuff marks & stuck drawers are welcome :) 2. Sign up for a volunteer shift in the warehouse! Learn what a family wants to see in their home, then select furniture & home goods to bring their design ideas to life. Or spend your shift in the workshop upcycling furniture and home goods to be like-new for a DIGS family! 3. Join us for a DIGS Day! We move in a truck full of goodies every week, and we need hands to do it! Whether you want to volunteer solo, with your friends & family, or with your corporate team, we've got a DIGS Day for you. 4. Donate funds to support our organization as we continue to grow into our goal of breaking the cycle of homelessness one family at a time!
