#Nonprofit/Ministry #Volunteer #opportunity - Anyone who has a knack for social media, let me know! Looking for help making meaningful content we can post on social media. This can be in the form of recording a testimonial about the conference or how you have been impacted by Heroic Deeds. This could also be passing on a great article or research that would be good to share with the first responder community. If you are savvy with web design, even better!

📝 At Firespring, we like to keep things balanced with an 80/20 split for content. That means 80% of our focus is on impactful, educational, and appreciative content like client and volunteer spotlights, as well as problem-solving for our audience. The remaining 20% is all about promoting things like fundraising, recruitment, solicitation, and event sign-ups. 🔎 Check out this quick video clip on "diversity of content" with Joshua Alcorn and Kiersten Hill. #nonprofit #nonprofitmarketing #fundraising #contentcreation #nonprofitcontent #tacticalthursdays

I help nonprofits write better fundraising comms | Ex Fundraising Manager turned Copywriter | Co-Founder of Kind Word ❤️
Whoa, I've written more than 400 fundraising campaigns. Exaggeration? No. I just looked at my invoice records from the past 7 years as a Fundraising Copywriter for nonprofits. And? Well, it means I have many a tip to share ☺️ That's why I teach nonprofit teams through my Fundraising Copywriting Workshops. These are custom workshops for your organization: • Emotive Writing: How to move your donor's heart • Readability: Make your content easy on the brain • How to Make a Strong Call-to-Action (and a soft one) There are more topics... but I won't overwhelm you 😄 👉🏽 Message me for pricing and more details. P.S. Liz in Sydney, Australia did 3 workshops and said: "I wish I had these writing sessions with Maddie when I first started working for a non-profit. But better late than never! Maddie provided practical tips I could apply immediately." ------------------ I'm Maddie, Co-Founder of Kind Word. Once a Fundraiser. Now a Writer. Here to help nonprofits (and businesses) bring in more funds through kind words ❤️

9 things you didn't realize would make your nonprofit's website redesign project go off the rails: ❌ The website you were thinking of in your head didn't match what everyone else had envisioned ❌ Writing new page content takes a huge amount of mental effort ❌ It's difficult to discuss things in the abstract like, "What should our home page look like?" ❌ You didn't ask whether you'll be able to easily update content until after the site launched ❌ You worked with an agency that's more familiar with the for-profit world than mission-driven orgs ❌ Key stakeholders didn't feel consulted or listened to during the development process ❌ Articulating feedback on what you like (or dislike) about a design is surprisingly tough ❌ The consultant or agency you work with is strong in one or two areas (messaging, design, or tech) but not in the others ❌ The agency wasn't able to (or didn't try to) grasp the full emotional depth of your work Which situation have you encountered? #nonprofit #nonprofits #webdesign #community #branding 👾

Words have power. We would argue that words hold MORE power in the social impact space. (anyone want to debate about the use of the word "nonprofit"??) As you, our fundraiser/marketer/ED friends, work to engage, connect, ignite your followers/donors/volunteers words are going to be a part of any winning strategy. Words are going to: 🗣️ Move a donor's heart to give. 🗣️ Align your team's goals, value, impact. 🗣️ Attract and engage volunteers. 🗣️ Strengthen your community connection. 🗣️ Create a sense of belonging. Super excited to share this recent article from Hiver Madeleine Nance of Kind Word; she is a word-smith extraordinare. She so eloquently gets to the heart of why nonprofiteers need to make sense of our mission in our brain - while also reflecting what we feel in our hearts. These "5 ways the nonprofit community can win with words" is a great resource for any nonprofit feeling the struggle to express their mission with words. What messaging have you used in the past that struck a cord with your community?? Share it in the comments below! #wordsmatter #messaging #nonprofit #marketing #fundraising https://lnkd.in/gSsMYWY3

I have spent all day not managing to build a website for a non-profit I am setting up. Wordpress is much more fiddly than it used to be, especially when you’re limited in funds and can’t buy pro themes. Also I have the design skills of a lettuce leaf. Humph. How was your day? #ReasonsIWorkInRadioAndNotGraphicDesign #websites #volunteering #vent

The not-for-profit sector is about much more than merely replicating the for-profit sector. I highly recommend that entrepreneurs give this a read.
I help nonprofits write better fundraising comms | Ex Fundraising Manager turned Copywriter | Co-Founder of Kind Word ❤️
I hear people say the "nonprofit" sector should learn from the "for profit" sector... But what if we flip the script? Writing for nonprofits has taught me: 1️⃣ How to offer a non-tangible "product" ...because it's a challenge to ask someone to give their hard-earned money for something they can't physically hold in their hands. 2️⃣ How to speak about sensitive and heavy subjects ...because the causes I write for deal with some of the most heart-wrenching situations you can imagine. 3️⃣ How to help people feel part of something bigger than themselves ...tapping into a deep human need for meaning, purpose, and a sense of belonging. 4️⃣ How to translate complex "program talk" ...so everyday people can understand what their support means. 5️⃣ How to move hearts ...because at the end of the day, many of us make decisions based on our emotions. P.S. These are some of the things I teach nonprofit teams through my Fundraising Copywriting Workshops 😊 ------------------ I'm Maddie, Co-Founder of Kind Word. Here to help nonprofits (and businesses) bring in more funds through kind words 💕
