Part 2 I’m not sure what gets you most excited when you begin a new project. One of the first things I think about is the opportunity a project is going to bring to those I work with—especially those who are newer in their careers. Our work has a direct effect on communities, whether it’s working on a complex housing issue, assisting a community as they plan for the next 20 years of growth, or engaging communities who are impacted by growth but often do not have a voice. Each project offers an opportunity for those we work with to find a career that aligns with what they are passionate about. Do you remember how exciting it was to explore different types of work when you started your journey? I started by adventure after graduating from Central Washington University. I was fortunate to start my career at Kittitas County as an entry level planner. I even had the opportunity to work with my brother who was a planner as well. They threw me right in. I conducted my first hearing in my first four months and took on projects that were probably way over my head. However, I never felt like they would let me down if I needed help. I was always challenged to do my homework before I asked for help and that approach has helped me immensely. Over the next few years, I became the City Planner at the City of Black Diamond and even took a second tour at Kittitas County before landing the Land Services Director job at Stevens County. This was my first real leadership position. I can tell you with 100% certainty that I wasn’t always the best leader starting out. I was young and needed to be humbled on what real leadership meant. It was a bit scary to take on a role where I was responsible for others. Over time all the hard things I learned helped me become a better person, planner, and leader. After an amazing six years at Stevens County, I was so fortunate to become Planning and Development Services Director at Snohomish County, WA. I went from a team of 12 to over a 100 overnight. Although that may seem daunting, it was the most incredible experience. Why? Because I finally found out who I was and my purpose. My purpose goes well beyond being a planner… it’s the impact I can have on those around me. Ill wrap things up in Part 3!

🌟 Busy days, big smiles, and endless gratitude! 🌟 Working at Landsdowne Property Group is like riding a rollercoaster—there's the hustle, the deadlines, the occasional wild loop-de-loop 😅, but in the end, you step off with a huge smile because you know you're part of something special. 💼🏡 Sure, managing an estate is no walk in the park—it's more like a brisk jog through a park, uphill, in the rain, with a clipboard. 😅 But what really keeps me going is the amazing support from upper management. The kind of support that shows up in the form of a well-timed "You're doing great!" or an "We appreciate everything you do" right when you need it most. Seriously, those little words of affirmation have superpowers. ✨ They turn long days into rewarding ones and remind me why I love being part of this team. Landsdowne Property Group is more than just a workplace; it's a family that values hard work, supports growth, and cheers you on every step of the way. Knowing that my efforts don’t go unnoticed—now that’s what makes this all worthwhile. So, here's to the busy days, the epic teamwork, and to working for a company that’s as committed to us as we are to them. 🌟 #LandsdowneLife #TeamworkMakesTheDreamWork #HustleAndHeart #PropertyManagementAdventures #GratefulAndGrowing

Dear friends in real estate, I want you to take a moment to remember why you chose your career in the first place. It might have been a passion for helping others, a desire to innovate, or a love for learning. Whatever it was, I want you to hold onto that feeling and let it inspire you. Often, we can get bogged down in the day-to-day tasks of our jobs, and we forget the bigger picture. We lose sight of the impact we're making or the potential we have to make a difference. But I want to remind you that your career is an opportunity to create something meaningful and to leave a lasting legacy. Take a step back and consider what you want to achieve in your career. What are your goals and aspirations? What challenges excite and motivate you? Most importantly, how can you fall in love with your career all over again? It could be by taking on a new project that challenges you in new ways or seeking a mentor who can guide you to the next level. It could be by finding a way to give back to your community or by taking on a leadership role that allows you to make a bigger impact. Remember, your career is not just a job. It's an opportunity to make a difference, to grow and learn, and to leave your mark on the world. So embrace it with passion and enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence. Sincerely, Muna

I've been in CRISIS mode these last thirty days. One month ago my property management quit. My executive assistant quit a week later. Today, I inked a contract with a new property manager and had my first sync with essentially a brand new team. During my COO days, I told my team 'your job is to standardize every part of your work so you can hire your replacement, fire yourself, and conquer new ground.' This probably sounded dramatic, but there is no fire drills for when your entire team quits. Few rise to the occasion, but all fall to to the highest level of our systems. That was the essence of Courtyard Sihe's Q2 investor update. https://lnkd.in/d5yGq9fj I'm anxious about the new team. What my investors will think. Will this work out? Posting consistently on social media is as much about diligence as it is about courage. I don't always succeed, but I hope to always to return and post another day. Things are always uglier when they're works in progress. When was your last baptism by fire? How did you persevere?
