As we reach the halfway point of July, we want to address a significant issue which deserves awareness. A research article in BMC Public Health concluded: "Mental illness stigma is higher among ethnic minorities than majorities." As we work to help our community thrive together, it's important to remember that the first step is to break down the barriers of stigma. Seeking mental health support is valid no matter the reason, and seeking it early is responsible and a way to work towards becoming the best version of yourself. If you are curious to start your mental health journey, or looking to partner with us to make it more accessible to everyone in our community, call us 561-841-3500 #NationalMinorityHealthMonth #mentalhealthadvocacy #communitymentalhealth

A huge thanks to Nancy Leonard and Healthcare Marketing Exhange for continuing to be a huge advocate for mental health. It was an honor to be included in her February 2024 issue. It’s a simple message. Be kind. You have no idea what people are going through on the inside. “What should I do” is the question get asked the most by people suffering from mental illness or from the friends and family of the person who is sick. This article provides my perspective on that question. https://lnkd.in/eRC2Dgwt

Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK will take their own life. Ask: If you’re concerned, ask directly, “Are you thinking about suicide?” It can be a tough question, but it’s important. Listen: Just be there and listen. Sometimes, knowing someone cares can make a big difference. Encourage: Suggest talking to a mental health professional. Let them know there’s help available.
