#Heretotalkaboutfilm #Seven vital #points to consider before #hiring your #crew. Behind every successful film or video project is a dedicated production team. From the #director to the #cinematographer, #productionmanager, and other #crew members. They all play a crucial role in bringing the project's vision to life. Hiring the right production team is essential for the success of your project. Today, we will discuss the key steps involved in finding and selecting the perfect team for your film or video project. 1. Define Your Needs: Before you start hiring crew members, it is important to clearly define your project's requirements. 2. Seek recommendations and referrals: Reach out to your network in the film industry, including colleagues, friends, and mentors, and ask for recommendations. They may be able to refer you to experienced professionals who have the skills and expertise you are looking for. 3. Review Portfolios and Reels: Once you have a list of potential candidates, review their portfolios and show reels to assess the quality of their previous work. This will give you a good sense of their artist vision and technical abilities. 4. Conduct Interviews: Narrow down your list of candidates and schedule interviews with them. Interviews provide an opportunity to discuss their experience, working style, and creative approach. 5. Check References: Request references from the candidates and reach out to their previous employers or collaborators. Ask about their strengths, weaknesses, and how well they work in a team. References can provide a more comprehensive picture of the candidate's capabilities. 6. Budget Considerations: Hiring the right production crew and team also involves considering your project's budget. Ensure that the rates and fees of the candidates align with your budgetary constraints. While it may be tempting to cut corners to save money, remember that investing in skilled professionals will ultimately result in higher-quality production. 7. Clear Communication: Once you have assembled your production crew and team, it's crucial to establish clear lines of communication. Clearly define roles and responsibilities, set expectations, and establish a project timeline. Effective communication will ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards a common goal. These points are by no means exhaustive, but by taking them into consideration, you'll increase your chances of assembling a talented and cohesive team that will bring your vision to life on the screen. #makai_ivan #actor #writer #director #producer #filmmaker #cinemaworldstudios #cinemaworld Makai Ivan Netflix Showmax HollyWoood Nollywood Bollywood MultiChoice Group Cinema Uganda Leonard Amanya Mediavision Academy

On decision making and be surrounded by the right people Quentin Tarantino, is considered one of the best movie directors in the recent history of cinema. His movies and style carry out a unique voice. In one of his interviews, he said that a good director is not the who knows how to act, how to shoot with camera, who knows photography etc. (of course they are useful if you know them anyway). A good director is the one who can choose and hire the right actor/actress, the right cinematographer, the right costume designer etc. Hiring is a crucial part of the success of a team. The right combination of skills and personal identities can take a team to the next level. The role of a leader becomes even more dynamic and rewarding in such an environment. With the right team in place, the leader's journey becomes at least exciting, marked by continuous growth and innovation. This synergy between the leader and the team is akin to a process of fermentation, where ideas, talents, and energies interact, creating a brew of creativity and motivation. It's this circumstances that push a team towards the achievement of their shared objectives. Personally, I think that the same applies in our personal lives. Choosing the right people around us can have a significant impact on how we progress in life. This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be doing anything and let the others take the actions and decisions for us. As in the movies, no matter the greatest photographer, the ultimate decision is on the director. The movie will be a sum of constructive and inspirational interactions (by having the right people around) and the decisions that the director will make. At the end of the day the movie is their vision. Where you want to go is something that only depends on you and your set goals. Now, having the right people around, will help you learn, get inspired and get motivated to do more. The movie of your life then might be a serious candidate for the next Oscar nominations #leadership #decisionmaking #personaldevelopment #growthmindset #teamwork #moviemaking #hiring

Hi Everyone! After wrapping up the filming of "Teddy," my role as a producer extends into the intricate realm of post-production. The editing process becomes the focal point, where the raw footage transforms into a cohesive narrative. Collaborating closely with the editor, we meticulously piece together scenes, fine-tuning pacing, and ensuring the visual and auditory elements seamlessly align. It's a delicate balance of creativity and precision, working towards bringing the envisioned story to life on screen. Addressing any unforeseen challenges and refining the overall quality of the film demands a keen eye for detail and a dedication to the project's artistic vision. Simultaneously, my attention shifts towards navigating the film festival circuit. Crafting a compelling submission package involves selecting the right festivals that align with the film's theme and style. From preparing press materials to strategizing a festival submission timeline, there's a strategic dance to increase the film's visibility. The anticipation builds as we await responses, hoping to secure screenings and recognition that can propel "Teddy" into the spotlight. Balancing the technical nuances of post-production with the strategic moves required for festival submissions marks a crucial phase in the cinematic journey, where the hard work invested in production takes its next steps toward audience appreciation. #😃postproduction #producerslife #teddyfilm

With vivid interviews and b-roll to complement its engaging narrative, #American: #AnOdysseyto1947 had me glued to the screen and enhanced my understanding of a transformative era in American history. The film takes viewers through the first half of the #20th century, following stories as diverse as #CitizenKane star #OrsonWelles rising to fame, #FDR shaking up politics, and #Japanese citizens being shipped to #internmentcamps. Things students might yawn at in class — the makeup of the Northern and Southern #DemocraticParty, for example — are made captivating as they’re examined through different lenses, including seeing mid-century politics through the shifting relationship of media magnate #WilliamRandolphHearst and FDR. Thanks to its detailed, well-paced interviews and high-quality photos and videos, American: An Odyssey to 1947 seems destined not for a history classroom but for the silver screen. It might take some time to get used to the multiple narratives being presented, as there isn’t much of a transition between them, but viewers can be assured that all becomes clear within the first thirty minutes. The cinematography is clean and clear, as is the soundtrack. My favorite part of the editing is the interspersed archival interview footage from Orson Welles and others from the 20th century and the somewhat experimental initial and final sequences shot in black-and-white. American: An Odyssey to 1947 promotes patriotism but also suggests there’s more to American identity than meets the eye — some bad and some good. The film is all about looking back at our experiences and doing better going forward. American: An Odyssey to 1947 opens in select theaters beginning September 8, 2023, in select cities and on digital platforms September 12, 2023. Eshaan Mani https://lnkd.in/gWbshYTh
