National Italian American Heritage Month, established in 1989 by Presidential Proclamation, is a time to reflect on the rich history and contributions of Italian Americans to this country. There are many ways of celebrating National Italian Heritage Month; either as individuals, a family or by taking part in one of the many planned events across America. Each state and city have their own calendar of events to celebrate National Italian Heritage Month. Some ways you can celebrate National Italian American Heritage Month are: 1. Visit museums, art galleries, and exhibitions that showcase the works of Italian American artists and the rich history of Italy itself. 2. Pick up a book written by an Italian American author or explore literature that delves into Italian culture and heritage. 3. Discover the Italian cinema. From classic films by Italian directors to movies featuring Italian American actors, there's a wealth of cinematic treasures waiting for you. 4. Look for local events and festivals celebrating Italian American heritage. 5. Consider making a donation to organizations that promote Italian American culture, education, and heritage preservation. Your contribution can make a significant impact. #ItalianAmericanHeritageMonth #Culture #Celebration #Unity #Diversity

Kung hei fat choy to you if you're celebrating Chinese New Year. Happy year of the dragon! How did you celebrate? Some of the Magenta team have been out at the weekend celebrating and immersing themselves in Chinese culture. It’s important as researchers that we do this, so that we can bring our on-the-ground knowledge and context into our work. At the moment were in the midst of carrying out an 8 market international study, for which we’ve spent lots of time researching cultural contexts and nuances. For instance, when conducting research in China, we know that research is best conducted on weekends as people prefer not to ask for time off work to take part in fieldwork. Also, in quantitative research surveys, studies have shown that Chinese customers are more likely to say yes, so questions should be designed in a way that accounts for this. Understanding these cultural nuances encourages participation and allows us to uncover the strongest insight. What are some of the considerations you take while conducting international research? Please share in the comments below. #ChineseNewYear #InternationalResearch #CulturalNuances

Part 6A : Chapter 6: The Mosaic of Coexistence Culturally, the Mosaic of Coexistence was perhaps most visible. Festivals, art exhibitions, and performances showcased the rich tapestry of cultures that made up New Zealand’s identity. These events were more than just celebrations; they were acts of mutual recognition and respect, opportunities for individuals to share their heritage and, in turn, to learn about others. In this period, the narrative of New Zealand was no longer about integration or adaptation but about the celebration of each unique piece that contributed to the nation’s whole. It was a recognition that the strength of a community lies not in its homogeneity but in its ability to nurture and celebrate the individual pieces that make up its mosaic. The Mosaic of Coexistence underscored a profound truth that had emerged from New Zealand’s journey: when diverse communities come together, united by shared values and mutual respect, they create a society that is resilient, dynamic, and enriched by the breadth of its citizens’ experiences and perspectives. This chapter of New Zealand’s story was a testament to the beauty and potential of human diversity, woven together into a single, harmonious society.
