The next of our #AskBio teams to take advantage of our Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program recently went into action at a local zoo in Scotland. Eight Edinburgh-based members of our in vivo team left the lab for a day and volunteered at Five Sisters Zoo, which specializes in rescue animals. Our colleagues took on gardening, weeding, pruning, and general clean-up tasks, enjoying their time among many amazing animals, including six brown bears, four former circus lions, an Asiatic black bear caught up in the war in Ukraine, and over 100 red-footed tortoises that were being illegally trafficked. Our company’s VTO program, which provides two days each year for employees to volunteer and make a difference, enabled our colleagues to bond as a team outside of the office and help a local charity. #CommunityEngagement, #FiveSistersZoo paul devenney, Jacek Mendrychowski, Holly Woodward, Graeme I., Giada Giavara, Laia Mas Marquez, Laura Gordon

Never feed wildlife. Feeding coyotes intentionally or unintentionally is the cause behind many incidents of coyotes approaching or biting people. Just like domestic dogs, food can be a great motivator for uneasy wildlife – and by providing food (directly or indirectly by feeding or attracting other animals) we teach coyotes to expect food from people. By ensuring coyotes do not expect food rewards from anyone, we reduce the chances they’ll approach or get closer to people. 2 Keep dogs on leash. In a multi-year study, 92.3% of dogs who had encounters with coyotes were off-leash. Particularly when coyotes and other wildlife are active – dusk to dawn – keeping dogs on leash not only prevents potential issues with wildlife (who may view dogs as a threat) but can prevent and reduce traffic collisions, negative encounters with people or other dogs, and is frequently required by law. 3 Know the neighbours. If you’re aware of which species are in your community, you can be properly prepared to encounter them and know how to appropriately react. For example, if you’re aware coyotes live in the area and one monitors or follows you through a forest, you may know that this is a common behaviour that isn’t a threat or danger – it’s curiosity and worry for family. 4 Manage attractants and talk to your neighbours about them. Whether it’s a bird feeder, outdoor pet food, or an overflowing compost bin, identifying and managing attractants when wildlife are present can reduce negative encounters. Click here to learn more about managing attractants and what to look for around your home or business. 5 Removal of wildlife is not a solution. The idea of taking a coyote from an urban area and dropping them in a remote wilderness may seem logical, but it’s a highly traumatizing event that can lead to greater issues by breaking up family units, creating conflict within territories, and potentially spreading disease. Wildlife are in our communities because, even though they’re urban or suburban, they’re still part of ecosystems. Learning to coexist – and thrive – with wildlife around us makes for a healthier community and planet. Learn more about the One Health approach by clicking here. This elephant rice cake is for the whole beautiful community of SANUSPLANET and SANUSLIFE ADMINISTRATION AG Sanuslife Int A THANK YOU for helping us to donate €9,500 for the Save Elephant Foundation so far. I am currently at the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, one of the most beautiful places I have had the pleasure to visit in the world, meeting and interviewing the founder Lek Chailert for the movie I am working on. Lek is one of the kindest people I know❤️ Our goal at SANUSPLANET is to donate a lot more to this foundation so that they can expand their really important and great work! The space here at the park is limited with more than 120 elephants, hundreds of water buffalos, dogs, cats, cows, pigs, monkeys, birds, goats, sheep, horses, and many other animals. The elephants here were mainly rescued from tourist shows and from the logging industry. Most of them are quite old and have received nothing but pain from humans. Many are blind and badly injured because of all the shit we humans have done to them. Here they are allowed to do what they like without chains, have access to fresh water, food and the river all day long, choose their new family themselves and can be elephants for the first time in their entire life. For safety reasons and lack of space, the animals are in their separate enclosures at night and not completely free. That of course would be the plan. But thst takes much more space and money. In order to buy a larger area where the animals are free 24/7, 750.000€ are needed. We want to support this where we can! For this reason, we will soon be launching a limited time special campaign where all donations made via the SANUSAPP to SANUSPLANET by choosing the section "For Animals" will be donated to the Save Elephant Foundation. I am in love! This place, the animals, the stuff, it is stunning. I will do what I can to help! If you want to help me help, use any way to support this place. And if you want, use the SANUSAPP for any shopping you do in future! Every purchase of any product or service worldwide made on the SANUSLIFE Marketplace or payed with SANUSPAY, is giving donations to SANUSPLANET. We pass 100% of this money on to ngos like the Save Elephant Foundation! Be part of something bigger🌿 🐘❤️🐘 #sanusplanet #elephantnaturepark #saveelephantfoundation #support #foranimals #protectwhatyoulove

As an industry expert in the RV world, I found this recent article from Rogue Valley Times to be particularly interesting and relevant to RV enthusiasts and travelers. The mention of Sanctuary One, a nonprofit animal rescue care farm in the Rogue Valley, highlights a unique and worthwhile opportunity for RVers to visit and support a meaningful cause. With tours available every Friday and Saturday until October 26, 2024, this is a great chance for RV travelers to not only enjoy the beauty of the region but also learn about animal care and rescue efforts. This article underscores the growing trend of RVers seeking out meaningful and immersive experiences during their travels. Supporting local charities and organizations, like Sanctuary One, not only enriches our own experiences on the road but also contributes to the well-being of the communities we visit. I encourage fellow industry professionals and RV enthusiasts to consider incorporating visits to places like Sanctuary One into their travel itineraries. Let's continue to support these important efforts and make a positive impact wherever our RV adventures take us. What are your thoughts on blending travel with charitable activities? Hi #everyone, I'm currently in #Kuchaman for some office work, and while I'm here, something heavy has weighed on my heart. The condition of the #stray #animals here is truly heartbreaking. These creatures are clearly struggling to find #food and #water, and their living conditions are far from ideal. Almost dogs are #suffering from #skindiseases It's a sight that no animal lover wants to see. If you'd like to #help... If you're in #Kuchaman and are #able to assist, here are a few things we can do: #Donate supplies: Animal shelters often need basic supplies like #food, #water bowls, and leashes. #Volunteer your time: Even a little bit of time can make a big difference in the lives of these animals. Shelters often need help with walking, feeding, and socializing the animals. #Spreadawareness: Let's raise awareness about the plight of stray animals in Kuchaman. Share this post and encourage others to get involved. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these animals. Every little bit counts! #helpanimals #kuchaman #strayanimals #beavoiceforthevoiceless #peta #helpinsuffering #nagour #rajasthan #nawa #animalwelfare #stray

What do you do if you find a cat ❓ Cats Protection website holds loads of great resource regarding subjects just like this, Most cats are, by nature, inclined to roam the area surrounding their home. You're likely to come across a stray cat on your travels, although it might be tricky to find out whether it is a stray cat, a feral or is in fact an owned cat with a sense of adventure. So what should you do if you've found a cat? Five things to do with a found cat 🐱 🔹Avoid feeding it unless it is particularly underweight - this will only encourage the cat to come back, even if they have an owner 🔹Call your local animal shelter or organisation 🔹List the cat on your local community Facebook page or put up posters 🔹If you think the pet cat may have been neglected or treated cruelly, contact the RSPCA. 🔹If the cat doesn't have an owner, contact your local Cats Protection. Did you know ❓ We also have a handy paper collar template, these are good to attach to a cat to contact a possible owner, if there is one. 👇 https://lnkd.in/emg9dzWy For more advice on lost, found and feral cats, please click the link below 👇 https://lnkd.in/eetmBVFc #ThursdayThought #DYK #Charity #AnimalWelfare #CatWelfare #CatRescue #CatsProtection #WhyWeDoWhatWeDo #HereForTheCats

Bilingual Executive-Director Office Management | Purpose and People - driven leader | Embracing different cultures for a common goal
Empathy with our community at Hyperion Materials & Technologies Mexico Site: Supporting Local Animal Shelters!! As we do every month, we recently hosted our vibrant Hyperion Entrepreneur Bazaar. This time, we incorporated a meaningful auction featuring items that were once part of Hyperion but are no longer in use. The funds raised, alongside additional donations, were proudly contributed to Salvando Huellitas Naucalpan, a dedicated shelter for animals. Salvando Huellitas Naucalpan, founded four years ago by a group of compassionate neighbors in Naucalpan, provides a safe haven for 32 vulnerable puppies. Their primary focus is on helping pregnant street dogs by fostering both the mothers and their puppies until they are adopted and sterilized. Participating in initiatives like this brings me immense satisfaction, knowing that I can help animals facing the harsh realities of street life. Unfortunately, this is an all-too-common issue we witness around our site. As Monica from the shelter reminded us, each of us has the power to make a difference by changing the life of a dog through support and adoption. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eduardo F. our Managing Director and to all our colleagues (Magdalena Cervantes R, Oscar Main, etc) who contributed by donating kibble, cleaning supplies, and more. The funds raised will be directed toward vaccinating these beautiful beings with such pure hearts. In my eyes, there is no creature more loyal than a dog. From a young age, I have felt a strong sensitivity toward helping animals in need, especially those left to fend for themselves due to human neglect. I am grateful once again for the support and engagement from the Mexico site. Together, we can make a significant impact in any area we choose to focus on. #dogshelters #sensitivity #impact #engagement #corevalues #entrepeneurbazaar #viralpost #foryou #socialresponsability

YOUR INCOME grows forever. NO crypto, pyramids or gimmicks. Part-time, Full-time to Side Hustle. Learn how TOXIC your daily coffee/tea is WHILE helping us END the 3 MILLION annual deaths of cats/dogs in US/Cdn shelters.
WHERE do YOUR hard-earned, after-tax $'s go when you donate (to save animals lives?). HOW are people's generous donations used when donating to ' Greater Good Charities? Well, almost $800,000.00 PER YEAR goes to pay their top 4 Board members.. 2nd # shown 'compensation'. Key Employees and Officers Compensation: Liz Baker (Chief Executive Officer) $222,000 / $19,470 Noah Horton (Chief Operating Officer) $168,442 / $12,038 Stephen Minter (General Counsel) $163,905 / $9,487 Jemimah Okantey (Chief Financial Officer) $159,150 / $11,854 $154 MILLION in revenue. Almost $16 MILLION in assets. While the daily kill rate in shelters climbs. 5500 per day in 2022 7400 per day in 2024 OVER 9000 per day in 2025. How are they fixing this problem (while taking great salaries and building their assets)? President of the ASPCA = $1 million+ per year: His annual salary as of 2023 was $750,000 base salary, with $276,000 in bonuses and benefits of $47,859. Humane Society average executive salary = $268,559 a year. HOW are they not profiting from these deaths? Making $200K a year while 7400 cats and dogs are killed daily. 1 every 10 seconds. Riding people's emotions to donate is BIG $'s even for rescues I KNOW OF that: 1. purchased 30 acres (NY) now using animal abusing Amish for renovations. The Amish, operate the largest puppy mills in the US along with blinding 2 year old horses they've run into the ground and put up for sale at meat slaughter auctions to be killed in the most horrific way in Mexico. 2. Collected $40,000. in donations to place a down-payment on a property that... has NEVER been purchased or mentioned again. 3. Takes trips to the Dominican Rep. to bring back a few dogs when 1000's are suffering right here at home. 4. Started a $500,000. GoFundMe to literally pay off their farm, buy the farm next to it and build Air B&B's for they to make more revenue. Assets they KEEP in case they EVER shut down their sanctuary 5. Check out the extensive renovations to a Cat Cafe in Brooklyn. I have dozens more examples. So HOW do these MILLION$ of $'s raised in kind donations SPAYING AND NEUTERING the 100 MILLION cats suffering TODAY in the US and Canada? Answer: IT DOESN'T! Any 2 of those cats WILL produce 420,000 kittens in ONLY 7 years. Show me HOW these 'rescues' are FIXING this problem. They are operating to solely pay for their own assets, lifestyles, vehicles and trips. FOLLOW our page for the ONLY COLLECTIVE PLAN in the WORLD to empty the shelters and HELP those 100 MILLION ferals. I will NEVER ask you to donate your hard-earned, after tax $'s WITHOUT offering you FULL VALUE for any $'s spent from our global online stores. Share + Shop. The BIG difference between OUR offerings and just donating to rescues building their assets is YOU WILL RECEIVE IN RETURN FOR YOUR MONEY daily necessities YOU are ALREADY PAYING for every day of your lives. Friday thoughts... So, why did I become a volunteer at A Good Thing (UK)? Well, let me tell you—I’ve seen firsthand just how much donations can change the game for small charities. But it’s not as simple as just passing stuff along. Finding the right charity at the right time and giving them exactly what they need? It’s trickier than it sounds—kind of like figuring out where those extra IKEA screws go! And to be honest, most businesses don’t always have the time for that. That’s where A Good Thing steps in. We help businesses turn their surplus—whether it’s leftover construction materials, unused PPE, or that mountain of office supplies collecting dust—into valuable donations for charities across the UK. It’s a win-win: you reduce waste, make a real impact in local communities, and feel good knowing you’ve made a difference! A huge thank you to PDI International for their incredible support, and to all the other businesses helping us grow stronger every day. We’re expanding rapidly, but we couldn’t do it without your partnership and dedication. Your business could be the next one on the list—join our community today. https://lnkd.in/ekC-BzKC
Our mission is to "Be the Difference"—making a positive impact in our local communities. Thanks to the incredible support of A Good Thing (UK), we’re proud to have donated our wipes to help an even wider community. This time, we're thrilled to support the Redhead Rescues Animal Sanctuary in Kettering! 🐾💚 Made in Britain - official Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce #MadeInBritain #BeTheDifference #ImpactAwards #CommunitySupport #AnimalRescue #Sustainability
