Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week 🤝 According to Mind, every year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. However, the number of us who receive the necessary help and support is significantly lower than this. Here are some things AS want to reaffirm this week: 🧠 Self-care isn’t selfish and it certainly doesn’t have to be expensive. Why not go for a walk during your lunch break, or write three things you are grateful for every morning? 🧠 Breaking the silence begins with breaking the stigma. Let's reaffirm our commitment to ending the stigma surrounding mental health challenges in the legal profession. 🧠 There is strength in solidarity. It is no secret that the legal community is growing incredibly well, and now is the best time to connect and support one another. As we begin Mental Health Awareness Week, let's remember to prioritise empathy, compassion, and open dialogue in our journey to break the stigma surrounding mental health challenges. #MentalHealthWeek2024 #AspiringSolicitors

As we step into June, let's recognize its significance as a month dedicated to raising awareness about Post Traumatic Stress and Men's Mental Health. While this focus is crucial, we believe that every month should be an opportunity for education and advocacy in this realm. We also believe we need to move beyond awareness to action. It's about extending a hand to those who may be silently grappling with their mental health, offering them a supportive presence and reminding them that they are not alone in their struggles. In this journey, let's draw inspiration from the 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 movement—a powerful call to action for individuals facing mental health challenges. It serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us that even amidst our darkest moments, there's always a glimmer of light and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. So let's commit to educating ourselves and others about Post Traumatic Stress and the unique mental health hurdles that men often encounter. To boot, let's smash the stigma surrounding mental health and foster a culture of openness and acceptance, where seeking help is not only encouraged but celebrated as an act of strength and courage. Let's Keep the Mental Health Conversation Alive Mental Health Awareness Week was last week, so let's reflect on the power of these dedicated weeks in raising awareness and sparking crucial conversations. However, our commitment to mental health doesn't end with that week. It's essential to keep the dialogue ongoing every day, every month, throughout the year. We must create spaces where those affected by mental health challenges feel heard, supported, and understood. Let's ensure everyone has a voice and a safe place to turn to when needed. By continuing these conversations, we break down barriers, reduce stigma, and pave the way for a more empathetic and supportive society. So, let's not let the momentum fade. Let's pledge to keep talking, listening, and advocating for mental health awareness and support.

Mental health is a vital aspect of our daily lives, and the European Mental Health Week is a powerful initiative that aims to raise awareness and understanding about this critical topic across all of Europe. Taking inspiration from the renowned Mental Health Awareness Month in May, this event aims to empower people with knowledge about the immense impact that mental illness can have on individuals, families, and communities. Sadly, the STADA Health Report 2023 shows that 11% think their mental health will get worse in the future. As a compassionate society, we cannot ignore the urgent need to reduce stigma and promote acceptance and positive attitudes toward those facing mental health challenges. We must stand together, raise our voices, and work tirelessly to create a better world for everyone, regardless of their mental health status. Let us build a supportive community that provides kindness, hope, and a willingness to reach out and help those who need our support. Together, we can make a positive difference and empower everyone to live their best life. #EuropeanMentalHealthWeek #MentalHealth #CaringForPeoplesHealth

May is #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth - a month dedicated to raising awareness of mental health and mental health care. I've worked in the field of mental health for over 20 years, but after losing my best friend to suicide almost 7 years ago, it was clearer than ever to me that our broad cultural stigmas on mental health and mental health care are - literally - fatally flawed philosophies. Needing help knows no age, no gender, no income range, no morality, no title. As a society, we've often done a better job conflating mental health care with flaws & imperfections than we've done acknowledging how universal the need for compassionate community care is. Truly the success of our independence is determined by the success of our interdependence (and has been since the dawn of time). Ellie's approach of tying mental health to just humanhood - plain and simple - is clear, pure, and genuine, and it's exactly why I know that working for Ellie Mental Health is the place that I'm meant to be. If you're also someone who is passionate about mental health awareness, I'd urge you to share your "Why" this month - it could literally save a life! #MyWhyMHAM (If you're ever struggling with intrusive thoughts, or if you know someone who is, please call or text the crisis hotline at 988 to be immediately matched with a trained crisis counselor.) 🧡

October is a special month dedicated to raising awareness about two crucial issues… Mental Health and Substance Use Both of these topics are often stigmatized and overlooked, yet they have a profound impact on individuals and communities. In Maine, where the challenges of isolation, economic hardship, and the natural beauty that can sometimes mask underlying struggles are prevalent, it’s especially important to emphasize the significance of mental health screening and substance use prevention.
