As an experienced educator with almost a decade of teaching preschool and primary students, I've noticed a recurring theme in the hiring process: the undue emphasis on the layout of positions in a CV. This often overlooks the rich background and qualifications that truly define a teacher's capability and potential. I urge recruiters and hiring managers to look beyond the CV layout and delve deeper into the unique blend of skills and dedication that each teacher brings. Innovation in teacher recruitment time! 🧑🎓 This article introduces an innovative platform emerging in Australia to target teacher recruitment. A great idea to allow candidates to follow schools and institutions they are interested in, and equally has built in tools for schools to find and screen candidates also. In my experience, employed teachers that are ready for a change often quietly investigate other options around this time of year. Making your school, its approaches and benefits visible to them often enhances (and sometimes beats) traditional recruitment advertising. Remember our alternative education models offer fantastic and unique opportunities for teachers seeking growth, impact and/or challenge, and directly promoting those benefits is a great strategy to attract them. While it appears to be in its early stages, this is a good tool for alternative school providers to keep an eye on to find those unique and special teachers I know you need to find (and sometimes struggle to find in the current climate). If the price is right, you could begin creating a presence on there, highlight your employee value proposition, and see if benefit comes from adding it to your recruitment toolbox. #alternativeschools #communityeducation
