Schools are struggling to attain and retain not only educators, but support professionals such as nurses, counselors, and social workers. The Learning Policy Institute estimates that teacher turnover costs school districts $20-30,000 for every teacher who leaves the district, with the cost of teacher turnover in the US exceeding $8.5 billion annually. In addition to the financial burden it creates, no, low or high-turnover staffing can impact total school morale and student achievement.
