I'm very happy to see spaces like this being created, where crucial conversations about rights, justice, equality, and diversity are happening. At the Concordia Annual Summit in New York, I attended a session titled "LGBTQIA+ Representation in Global Governments: Reflecting on Progress and Shaping the Future," where I learned some incredible statistics. For instance, only 1% of C-suites are LGBTQIA+, 3% hold board seats in Fortune 500 companies, and just 1.3% in Nasdaq. This is compared to the 7.6% of the U.S. population identifying as LGBTQIA+. Despite the progress, there's still resistance to sharing power. We need to keep advocating for greater representation, both in the public and the private sectors. He is a member of the board of directors of Fortitude Re, Gallup Inc, Deep Labs, OmniSpeech, the Women’s Venture Capital Fund II, National CARES Mentoring Movement, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Blair House Restoration Fund, Studio Museum in Harlem, the Public Theater, and the Juilliard School. He also serves as the Chair of the Washington DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, appointed by Mayor Muriel Bowser.
