Astra Safety Director Dan Resendes visited our partner company Texas Chiller Systems last week in San Antonio — and he liked what he saw! He spent time with TCS Safety Manager Gui Celis, who has grown the safety program significantly since stepping into the role eight months ago. Dan also presented Astra Safety Gift Card Awards to Lead Foreman @Sean Gallaway and Warehouse Manager Vincent Rodriguez after seeing each of them demonstrate leadership and excellence. The visit was a great experience and an opportunity to connect with our partners on a personal level, which is such an important part of the collaborative role we have with our partner companies.

This is the group of colleagues which continously improves the #Safety in our #Opava factory 🙏 Within that group, with Irena, Michaela and Jaromir, they decided to create a video 🎬 to inform their 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ colleagues about the importance of giving protective feedback between colleagues, for example in: - being carefull in staircases (using the handrails 👌,..) - not looking at your mobile phone📵 when walking - keeping the 5️⃣S (having each thing at its place)✅ - not using shortcuts in risky places 🚷 (walk under conveyors,..) - generally protecting each other from any risk we see 👁🗨 A very important subject for this video 🎥, where Pavla and Roman play key own roles, and which helps each of us to think on how to protect our colleagues, give 🗯, receive 👂 and accept 🤘 feedback #SafetyFirst #SweetestJob #NejsladsiPrace #sweetestjob #TeamMDLZ

There is a quote that says, “lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.” The heart beat of PepsiCo Europe’s SPARK transformation is Daily Direction Setting (DDS) and it is designed to focus on planned execution of Daily Management Systems (DMS’s) and in-process measures’ checks. If everything goes according to plan, the output measures take care of themselves. If not, this provides an opportunity to LEARN (get to root causes) and DO (e.g. develop/test new standards) via the DDS troubleshooting cycle. Ruthlessly focusing on the top x3 losses each day, provides the direction from which the finite time of every x24 hours can be optimised. The picture below, was taken during a very efficient, and effective, DDS at PepsiCo Veurne last week 👍 Footnote: The same person responsible for the above quote (Zig ZIGLAR) is famous for another, and one which we believe SPARK is perfectly aligned with. It includes the words, “…..to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win."

Thank you to everyone who attended my talk at the 2024 Oregon Wine Symposium, focusing on Winery Safety – How to Keep your Team Safe and Company in Compliance, Applying Safety in the Workplace. It was a pleasure sharing insights and best practices with such an great audience! Here's a recap of some key learnings from our discussion: 1. Lead by Example: Safety starts at the top. Leadership must model the safety behaviors they expect from the rest of the organization. When leaders prioritize safety, it sets a strong foundation for a culture of safety throughout the company. 2. Empower Your Workforce: Your employees are your greatest assets. Encourage them to identify hazards and contribute to developing safety measures. Their firsthand experiences and insights are invaluable in creating a safe work environment. 3. Safety is Ongoing: Safety isn't a one-time effort; it's a continuous process. Regularly review and update your safety program to ensure it remains effective and relevant. Conducting regular audits helps identify areas for improvement and ensures compliance with evolving regulations. If you're interested in delving deeper into winery safety or have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me. Thank you once again for your participation at the symposium. I look forward to reconnecting with you all next year! #WinerySafety #WorkplaceSafety #OregonWineSymposium #SafetyCulture #EmployeeEmpowerment #ContinuousImprovement
