LinkedIn tends to be a pretty gentle and sanitised place where we use nice words, even when the world is burning. Truly, fuck that. Violence against womxn and children should make everyone angry enough to use angry fucking words. Enough empty, gentle words, enough placating. Enough death. Prevention isn’t as hard as our leaders pretend it to be, nor should there be a higher priority. While womxn and children everywhere suffer, and pencil pushers ponder sweet advocacy campaigns from ivory towers, perhaps should angrily take to the streets, withdraw all unpaid womxn’s labour and watch this whole neoliberal, capitalist hellhole crumble?? Maybe then law makers would pay attention and begin to take seriously the fact that our lives matter. Until leaders take notice, it’s up to us. If you think family violence isn’t happening to your friends and family, you’re wrong. Ask questions. Take notice. Act in any way you’re safe and able to.
We can and must end this national crisis together. https://bit.ly/3LeYTcQ [Alt: White and green text on a navy background: The death of women and children in family violence is preventable. There is an opportunity for all of us to reach out and start a conversation if we see or hear things that don’t feel right in relationships and families.]

I ask you these questions: What would you do if a scared and troubled teenage girl knocking and crying on your front door and asked you for help, would you ignore her or help her? What would you do if you found out she was being stalked by a local child trafficking ring? Would you still help her? Or would you shut the door? If you said “I will help her, or do what I can to get her the help she needs” then this message is for you. PROTECTING GRACE is an action drama about a witness to her mother’s murder, a teen aged girl seeks help from a retired rodeo hero in hopes to evade a local child trafficking ring. A film like this would bring awareness to the epidemic we know today as human trafficking? Do you agree? A film like Protecting Grace will bring awareness and we believe that it will bring many to Christ. Do you agree that NOW is time to take action? We have the actors, crew and most of the locations to move forward with this production in September/ October 2024 Because we believe now is the time to take action---- We have actor Randal Reeder (Deadpool 1, 2 & 3, 21 Jump street, Idiocracy and the Christian series on Pure Flix Sons Of Thunder. Protecting Grace is a Christian film. Not only will our film bring awareness to child trafficking. Our film will teach JESUS number one rule of love, FOR A MAN TO LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR SOMEONE ELSE IS THE GREATEST DEMONSTRATION OF LOVE – That’s why our tagline is LOVE PUT TO ACTION – DO YOU AGREE? #christian #christianity #ProtectOurChildren #investmentopportunity Our Production PROTECTING GRACE from start of Pre-production, primary Photography to the finish of Post Production (including marketing(sales agents and distributors)advertising, and festivals) we are seeking to raise $300,000 to make Protecting Grace. https://lnkd.in/gwDw2eAv

Do you dislike what is happening to Haitian immigrants and not just in Ohio but also on the ground in Haiti due to our policies? These speakers and upcoming events September 25th and 26th are part of the solution that you are invited be involved in directly from your own home or in DC, but of course it is primarily and fundamentally our national soul that needs repentance and healing in order to bring about the most long-lasting solutions to our collective societies, if we are to survive! https://lnkd.in/gZDeyvbK

Hersh is the son of my high school friends Jon and Rachel. His abduction and captivity are gut wrenching. Please read the short post below and consider carefully the last sentence of the post.
I don’t know a Jew who doesn’t know the name of Hersh Goldberg-Polin. But for gentile friends who may not know, Hersh is a 23 year old Israeli-American kept in brutal Hamas captivity (one of the 250 taken captive last October 7th). Hamas just released a tragic propaganda video of Hersh begging for help. It’s not clear when it was filmed or if he’s still alive but it seems more likely than some thought. He needs our prayers and advocacy. He also needs us to remember that any calls for ceasefire without his return (and all the other hostages) are morally bankrupt. #bringhershhome #BringThemHome #BringThemHomeNow

Today is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Millions of people worldwide and in our own communities are being trafficked and exploited. The Salvation Army is deeply committed to fighting this injustice. We believe in the inherent dignity of every person, as we are all created in the image of God, and stand against the exploitation of our brothers and sisters. Here's how you can help: Educate yourself – Learn about the different forms of trafficking and how to spot the signs. Speak out – Raise awareness in your community and challenge the demand for trafficked goods and services. Pray – Intercede for victims and survivors, for their healing and liberation. Together, we can break the chains of modern slavery and bring hope to the oppressed. #EndHumanTrafficking #HumanTraffickingAwareness #TheSalvationArmy Visit our website for resources and to learn more about how you can join our #FightForFreedom at: https://sajustice.us/

Please read my most recent article on Europinion reflecting on the recent troubles following the Southport tragedies.
Last week, Southport was devastated by the tragic murder of three young girls at a Taylor Swift dance class, followed by far-right riots. The peaceful vigil for the victims was hijacked by far-right protestors spreading anti-Islam sentiments based on misinformation. Zoe Wreford argues that these riots, fueled by false claims and social media, highlight the dangerous levels of Islamophobia in the UK. She suggests that the far-right exploited the tragedy to perpetuate xenophobic narratives, overshadowing the real issue of male violence against women and girls. Ultimately, Wreford believes that addressing the systemic roots of Islamophobia in media and politics is crucial. The community’s resilience in the face of tragedy should be celebrated, and efforts must focus on promoting compassion and combating hate to prevent such exploitation of future tragedies. #SouthportTragedy #Islamophobia #Misinformation #UnitedKingdom #riots https://lnkd.in/dnRfWsZt

This image will always give me chills. What about you? It’s what we call an iconic image. An iconic image often has global or political implications. They affect our emotions because we immediately recognize something powerful or historic in the image. Think of pictures like those marking a day in history, worldwide events, or famous people. Iconic photos don’t have to be of recognizable subjects, though. There are iconic wedding photos, event shots, and even family portraits. What makes it iconic is that it evokes powerful feelings from its intended audience. Photographers are always hoping to capture something iconic. We keep our heads on a swivel so that we are constantly aware of our surroundings, the people and other subjects, the mood, the lighting, and all the other elements that contribute to our photos. We are constantly calculating and watching for everything to align perfectly in our lens. This is generally called “composition.” The way we compose a photo has to become instinctive for a photographer. We can only learn to do it through time and experience, and of course, a lot of trial and error. We notice where things will be in the frame. We can tell the difference between two nearly identical facial expressions. We see how a background will impact the foreground. And we have an eye on more details at once than anyone can imagine. When we nail it, it’s amazing. You can tell you’re looking at an iconic photo if you just can’t pull your eyes away from it, or if you feel an emotional reaction to it. Every once in a while, this type of photo happens spontaneously. But most of the time, it happens because a hard-working photographer applied their years of experience to make it work. What’s your most iconic photo?
Today, we remember the tragic events that happened on 9/11. We pause to honor all the victims, their families, and all those who serve and have sacrificed in the line of duty. ❤️ #NeverForget
