Supporting #OPENARM Initiatives: Alleviating the Deplorable Conditions of Impoverished Nigerians "No one has ever become poor by giving." - Anne Frank. Times are tough, the economic downturn has hit the poor especially hard, many people in #Nigeria are struggling to survive; in Nigeria, it has now become the 'survival of the fittest.' We currently find ourselves in a critical moment, where the severity of our circumstances is comparable to the rear end of a boat. The impoverished Nigerians are crying out for urgent assistance. It is disheartening to note that even those who may typically be unaware or unresponsive to societal issues are now keenly aware of the dire living conditions faced by the less fortunate in Nigeria. Regrettably, only a small number of individuals actively contribute to public or charitable causes or extend their thoughts towards those who are less fortunate than themselves. These are the reasons why our #OPENARM initiatives, an ideal of the PlungeSmile Foundation, stand like the rock of Gibraltar to rebuild homes by coming out to provide #food for the poor masses who could not afford the cost of living in Nigeria at the moment. Through our #OPENARM initiatives, for years we have been engaging with communities and we have been contributing in a positive way, #OPENARM initiatives have played a big part in our communities. On a daily basis, we are feeding over 500 #people in Obalende, Lagos Island, in #Lagos State. #OPENARM initiatives have transformed our communities into a beacon of hope by providing them foods such Asaro (Made from yam), jollof rice, amala and vegetable soup coupled with dry fish. We have been sharing breads for the masses, most especially during this Holy month of #Ramadan fasting, those who want paps (a soft food), #OPENARM initiatives has been providing it, through the efforts of the PlungeSmile Foundation. We have been building an egalitarian #society, we have been showing our humanity by helping those that need sincere help. Our vision at #OPENARM is to see every community, every neighborhood, every life and health. That is what we stand for. Join #OPENARM initiatives to make more Nigerians smile https://lnkd.in/dyyZ6muU #ZeroHunger #NigeriaGovernment #SaudiArabia #Dubia #Socialimpact #CommunitySupport #TheNationnewspaper #BBC #TVC #AriseTV #NTA #Povertyalleviation #BBC #CNN #Algezeraa #LagosState #Dangote #MTN #GLOBACOM

Chief Architect of Sustainocratic Solutions, the societal approach around key natural human essentials for our sustainable existence.
Uganda, Nakivale refugee camp The camp consists of 72 villages, all living in great poverty. The local government donated fields for local food production. But people have no education, no schools, often not even clothes or clean drinking water. Healthcare does not exist and people suffer from malaria and other diseases. A team of 350 entrepreneurial locals are trying to develop a values driven society, using #sustainocracy as their source of inspiration. They are collecting empty plastic bottles from the waste deposits, fill them with sand and build houses. They are setting up participatory learning systems for young people to learn through engagement and playfulness. They produce soap for local hygiene, educate young women about sexuality, self protection, hygiene and self respect. They even designed their own computers from scrap materials gathered. An Innovation Hub has been built and the team of 350 is divided into dedicated groups. All is based on caring, sharing and creating, based on the core human values (health, safety, awareness and shared responsibilities) and basic needs (water, food, clean air and shelter). Money received through international donations is used to buy materials such as cement, medications, metal shields, print communication materials, etc. Local food abundance, after feeding the locals, is marketed in the nearby cities. Children receive regular breakfast, at first with sugar but nowadays with honey, showing a rapid result in improved resistance against diseases. In our western world we see polarization, huge financial differences between people and blind competitive focus on speculation and consumerism. It is then heartwarming to be able to contribute ideologically, practically and step by step to these people that live in great adversity but with a mindset to make something of their lives, while caring for others around them. https://gofund.me/bf32a17f

Nigeria's growing crisis of high cost of living has made a balanced diet unaffordable for millions of Nigerians, particularly those with fixed or low incomes, in the most populous country in Africa. Consumers' purchasing power is being eroded by rising inflation and declining household incomes, but we are collaborating with businesses and individuals to address this issue by providing assistance to families who are at risk. The Lagos Food Bank is dedicated to relieving hunger, the causes of hunger, and the problems associated with hunger through awareness, education, and mobilization of resources and community involvement. Together we can stop the risk of this hunger, we know today’s drivers of hunger require innovative, long-term solutions that build resilience and address root causes. ————— To support any of our programs kindly make a Bank Transfer to Account Name: LAGOS FOOD BANK INITIATIVE 0463977946 - GTB 1016014957 - ZENITH BANK 1020057249 - UBA 0106793890- Union Bank 0002221706- Standard Chartered For GTB account holders you can donate using USSD CODE by dialing *737* 35 *amount* 9222 # (i.e. *737* 35 *2000* 9222 ). Project #74 💧 Recently we had the privilege of completing a project in Malawi. As one of the world's poorest countries, most of Malawi's population still live below the international poverty line of $1.25 a day. We eagerly partnered with Water For People to help out this community. Here are some of the project details: Water Partner: Water for People Country: Malawi Region: Blantyre, Chikwawa, Chiradzulu Amount: $15,000 USD People Served: 750 Project: Our profits went towards... -Expansion of water boreholes & wash committees. -Sanitation efforts primarily through schools. -Entrepreneurship investment & targeting high-level political will via governmental collaboration in water initiative execution. -Strategically using locally-sourced materials such as, neem tree oil, baking soda & flour to create sustainable, cheap soap. As you know, we turn coffee into water. If you wish to donate so that we can continue to use our love for coffee to help those suffering from a lack of accessibility to clean water you can do so here: https://lnkd.in/dZFwKQ-9

When you meet people and organisations that share your values, it amplifies your impact ❗ A great example of impacting lives is bellow 👇
Introducing The Moldova Project Fifteen years ago, the incredible Victoria Morozov founded The Moldova Project Association to combat the devastating effects of poverty across Moldova. Today, Victoria and her dedicated team work tirelessly with over 120 families each year, helping them move from a place of utter despair to one of hope and sustainability. Comprising social workers, doctors, psychologists, and an army of volunteers, The Moldova Project has repeatedly demonstrated the transformative power of long-term support and commitment. In a recent conversation with Victoria, it became clear how deeply aligned our missions are. Moldova has endured 33 years of well-intentioned charity, with aid often being distributed in the hope it might make a difference. Yet, as we both know, it takes more than just aid - it requires a collaborative and focused effort to create lasting change. That’s why we are incredibly proud to stand alongside Victoria and her team, supporting their fight against the devastating effects of poverty on families across Moldova. Here, my dear friend and colleague Ivan Ivancev and the team have joined The Moldova Project in delivering vital support to villages across the country. No charity can achieve its objectives alone. The idea that we are in competition is a misguided belief. True transformation comes from cooperation and collaboration. We are deeply honoured to stand with The Moldova Project to help transform lives across what is still Europe's poorest country. Special thanks as always to our dear friend Rosalind Bluestone MBE and amazing team at Goods For Good, as well as the incredible Dean Attwell and his team at Oakland International Limited Together #WeAreHope4 nations #hope #love #impact
