Wow. Three years. Yes, I’m stepping into 4th year with Kroll!! It's been an incredible ride. On this Thanksgiving Day, which also happens to be my work anniversary, I would want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for being a part of this journey and for making it worthwhile. Learnings along my journey: 1. You are the author of your own destiny 2. Doing what you believe in is exhilarating and exhausting at the same time 3. Healthy body + healthy mind = healthy ideas 4. Try not to sweat the small stuff. Everything works out in the end. It really honestly always does. 5. Be willing to listen. You don’t know it all! 6. Your reaction to circumstances and people will make the world of a difference. 7. With every fault you find, find a SOLUTION! 8. Nothing beats hard work! 9. Don’t let mediocrity be associated with your work and you. 10. No task is below you. You learn so much from doing the simplest of things. 11. Be kind to others always. 12. And most importantly, Take your vacation! Everyone needs a break to regroup and refresh. Happy third work anniversary to me! Gratefully, Vinita

In reading my many work anniversary congratulations after 13 years here at Penna 3 things came to mind: 1. Where do the years go? Whilst we've packed a lot into the last 13 years, it has flown by, so I must be having fun! 2. We should celebrate years of service more fully. Without LinkedIn reminding me, the date would have just passed by. 3. Anniversaries make you think. Do I still love what I do, what have I achieved? Luckily on both I was able to reflect positively. Perhaps worth employers considering how they celebrate service for employees as a key retention tool, as negative answers to my Q2 could lead to employees making a call to a recruiter, like me! Thanks everyone for your good wishes, here's to Year 14 Penna our 50th year.

It has been 3 years today since I started my professional journey. For many of you it is just a small tenure but can be a big one for those who are going to start their profession. Our experience can be a great help for those who are going to take this first step. Here are my learnings in past 3 years: · Never shy away from asking guidance- We are here to learn and unlearn many things. The ones we are working with are a step ahead of us in a way or other. In addition, by learning I mean personally as well as professionally. · Identify your strengths: We are all same, but different, so deep dive in yourself and identify your plus and minus. Keep working on your positives and try to reduce or cover your weaknesses. · Be Expressive: We have people who are having many skills but fail to show or express them, which hide their true potential. When in doubt, ask; when sure, express. Make your presence felt. · Time Distribution: In the beginning of our career, we have a powerhouse within ourselves. We want to do everything, want to achieve everything, success and spotlights attract us, but along with that, lots of us are stuck in Bermuda triangle of Social Media, Dating sites and our own thoughts. Best way to get out of it is opt for a new hobby, which will increase your learning, and help you grow. · Learn from people you admire: I’ll quote Oprah Winfrey “Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.” Search for the inspiration around yourself; learn from them, from their experiences, from their life decisions. Listen to the interviews, podcasts and follow their social media page. Learn from them but remember to be YOU. · Compete with yourself: Do better than yesterday. Try new things every day. Strive to be better in every aspect of life but remember to live, love and laugh. Failures are just the part of life and come to those who are strong enough to handle them. Celebrating my work anniversary. Feeling thankful for this #workmilestone

Marissa's post made me realize how important gratitude has become in my life. Looking at what is going right, even if it's something minuscule (like a spell checker -- thank you LI!!), helps me be more optimistic overall. As someone who has struggled with depression and definitely does not want to go back there, I am certain that my gratitude practice has helped pave the way for better mental health. That is NOT to say that I don't recognize the struggles that I have. I'm not interested in "only good vibes." Instead, I find it essential to define The Problem so that I can then determine The Solution. Chinese medicine shows that there cannot be light without darkness; they are two sides of the same coin. I am grateful for my struggles. If I don't recognize what I don't want, it's much more difficult to figure out what I do want.

Booz Allen Hamilton is celebrating a 110 year anniversary. WOW Yesterday we had an All Hands, where Horacio Rozanski (President and CEO) and many other executive leaderships, shared with all of us things, we have accomplished in the past years and what we are doing today for tomorrow's challenges. Here are my takeaways! 1. Booz Allen is constantly developing strategies that allows us to adapt quicker to the fast-changing world that we live in it. Even other companies (pioneer in industry) have perished, Booz Allen strategies allows us to evolve, adapt and change to embrace challenges to continue strengthen our key relationships and investments with other tech company and our customers. 2. Booz Allen focus in reuse, not to reinvent the wheel! We have win in the past, we know how we've done things to succeed, and we know how we can help each other to success together! 3. Booz Allen has been built with a strong culture and values foundation, that allows the entire organization to develop the best of each of us! With that, we can allow to become client-focus centric to deep dive into their needs, specially within the tech skills needed to support them. 4. Booz Allen is about networking, how we connect to seek advice, and how we are advisors to many others, internally and externally. You are part of the changing factor; your experience and your stories can be a pivot for others to develop their careers. I am sure there are pretty much many things happening in the organization, but what I have learned is, Booz Allen offers you an opportunity to bring your talent and shine, but also to develop your career, we don't hire for a job, we do hire for a career! Getting ready for the next 110 years! Thanks Booz Allen Hamilton. Space is the limit!
