Guardian Angel Carers is excited to share the launch of the #TECActionAlliance's latest report: "Implementing TEC so we can all live gloriously ordinary lives." This action paper is a monumental step towards understanding and implementing what people truly want and need from technology-enabled care (TEC). As a partner of the #TECActionAlliance, we are committed to promoting a future where TEC is not just available but is also designed and implemented in a way that makes "living gloriously ordinary lives" a reality for everyone. This report marks a pivotal step towards that future, advocating for a shift in how digital care is perceived, developed, and delivered. The need for this research arose from a recognition that the voices of those who directly rely on TEC—people, families, and unpaid carers—were often overlooked in the development and delivery of digital care services. To bridge this gap, the #TECActionAlliance, a collaboration of over 30 esteemed care organisations, commissioned this comprehensive study. The research, which involved examining over 100 sources and conducting nearly 50 interviews and focus groups, has successfully identified nine crucial elements people value in TEC. The report also underscores the importance of making TEC services known to those with lower-level needs through NHS primary care, enabling early self-management and delaying critical care. Other important conclusions are the need for a universal language for TEC and the adoption of quality assurance schemes, ensuring accessibility, reliability, and safety for all. SafelyYou is expanding into 36 Cogir Senior Living communities and into assisted living after reducing the number of residents fall by an impressive 52%. Cogir is also partnering with SafelyYou to leverage our latest breakthrough, SafelyYou Clarity™, which empowers operators to measure resident care automatically and accurately—without wearables—a first for the industry. Cogir began its partnership with SafelyYou to address residents falling and improve resident outcomes. With SafelyYou, Cogir was able to reduce the number of residents falling by 52%, for residents using SafelyYou for a minimum of 60 days, when comparing their first month using the program to their second month. This decrease improves well-being for residents, reduces stress for residents and families, and saves costs for families and communities. Our long-term partnership with Care Ring is rooted in community voice and building relationships that optimize true care for a community - and not just transactional services. This week's article from Ryan Pitkin at The QC Nerve highlights how this work influenced locations and offerings for Care Ring's mobile health clinic - The Bridge - and in turn, more people receiving the healthcare they need. We're so inspired by the way our teammate Helen Hope Kimbrough builds trust in communities by listening and being proximate to the issues neighbors face - including, in this case, what it might take for an individual to access the clinic and making that walk herself. As she says in the article, “I wanted to see what it would be like for a mom to walk with two kids, or for a person who does not speak English or a second language, how would they navigate that?” she explained. “I also wanted to see what type of things would be needed for a person who may be disabled. And so along that walk, I got a chance to kind of embody some of that, because I feel like some of this work people come to with a bias.
