It’s us, hi, we're RNIB's social media team, it's us 👋 We’re Holly and Lisa, and we talk about accessibility day in, day out at RNIB. Away from social media, we’re massive Taylor Swift fans. Ever since we went to the Eras Tour in June, we’ve spent months imagining what an accessible tour would look like for blind and partially sighted fans like us. Accessible concerts would be our Wildest Dreams come true. A simple cornerstone of our social media strategy is to bring accessibility to pop culture moments, so no one’s excluded. With Taylor saying So Long, London with a string of shows at Wembley Stadium, we decided to live out our accessibility era. For many Swifties, donning the perfect Eras Tour outfit is as much a part of the day as the concert itself. Fans take to social media to share their iconic outfits, but sadly, their pics can’t be enjoyed by their fellow blind and partially sighted Swifties. By asking Swifties to audio describe their outfits, blind and partially sighted fans can get involved in the fun (and get outfit inspo if they’re lucky enough to have tickets!). We didn’t end our accessibili-Tay content there. We also found the perfect awareness-raising opportunity with the iconic friendship bracelets. Everyone who audio described their outfits received a friendship bracelet from RNIB with the name of a common eye condition. Making accessibility part of everything you do means no one has to miss out. You could reach the 2 million people living with sight loss in the UK, including us. That’s a huge impact. I went to my first festival age 16, straight after GCSE results day.    My friends and I were dropped off at Reading Festival with a backpack and a few cereal bars each, to last us the 4 nights of camping.    We spent the weekend getting lost, meeting people and making memories.    But, there was no connection—if you got lost, you wouldn't have any signal to contact your friends.   I revisited Reading Festival this summer after 8 years, this time armed with 5G connectivity that transformed the event experience. A good #conversation can happen anywhere, even if it is 3000 miles away from home! 🇸🇬 Kim Pong Lim and I didn’t plan to meet up in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 as we were there for different business reasons. But once we know that we are in the same territory, a catch up has to happen! It’s THAT spontaneous! 💬A good conversation needs an intent. Ours was just to check in with each other on how we are doing, what are we up to, what are we advocating recently. Our intent was fulfilled totally, and then some. We were spontaneous, but being intentional helps! 💬 A good conversation needs trust. We exchanged notes on how we are running our businesses (mine significantly dwarfed by his) challenges we are facing and tips on sustaining our work to thrive in this industry. I am heartened to be getting wise words of encouragement from Pong that speaks volume to my confidence. 💬A good conversation needs a voice. We Ask, Talk and Suggest interchangeably throughout the 2 hours of coffee chat, bringing our passion in #soundwave to life fluidly and effortlessly. It’s a joy, it’s enriching and nourishing. As we head out to different parts of the world next to promote our businesses (Shanghai for Pong and Macau for me) it helps to remind ourselves to make good conversations take place. I enjoyed doing this photo essay, about Alice going on a business trip. We go along on the journey, to see how entire ecosystems of services support economic activity and human life. At each stage in the journey services fade in and fade out. We also see how services are a series of performances and affordances, within windows of time and space. Lastly, this essay show how a continuous band of services that varies in width, helps us get the most of something as simple as a train ticket. #societies #ecosystems #infrastructures #services

We're sorry to hear the news of Co-op Live's delay in opening the UK's "biggest and most sustainable arena" in Manchester. https://lnkd.in/dyP6VRzN Because we need strong positive case studies to set the standard for transitioning to a cleaner and more sustainable event industry. And it's even harder to hear the reason as "to give operators the extra time we need to continue testing the building’s infrastructure and power supply". As power experts for events, we're wondering what the problems are, but it is reassuring that safety and security come as a priority. Either way it's clear. Power is at the foundation of all live events. And sustainable and reliable power solutions even moreso as the industry transitions away from fossil fuel-powered diesel generators.
