(required) A: I started off studying bioengineering for undergrad due to being unable to decide between engineering and premed. Engineering won out in the end. I recall the pride I felt after writing a collision simulator in MATLAB and felt like this was the closest thing to unlimited potential and imagination in the world. Each new program I write renews my sense of amazement, and this is what carries me through my tech career. Q: What are your primary areas of expertise within the tech industry? Being in tech has been overcomplicated by a lot of people including myself. Listen to this if you've ever been in a similar situation. When I joined St. Paul's University to pursue a Degree in Computer science, I had put myself under so much pressure because I wanted to achieve a lot within a short period of time. Little did I know that choosing a career in tech was more of having small and achievable tasks and not putting myself under so much pressure. Avoid: Putting so much pressure on yourself and take everyday as a learning day. Instead focus on setting small and achievable tasks on a daily basis.

2018 was the year when I was first introduced to IBM Qiskit ecosystem. Back then, Qiskit itself was in its early stages and my knowledge in the field of Quantum Computing was also very limited. But during my internship then, and the subsequent work using Qiskit has helped me a lot in the past few years. Specifically, the book "Quantum Computation and Quantum Information" by Issac Chuang & Michael Nielsen is what helped me in grasping the concepts and understanding the algorithms. For anyone starting out, I'd definitely recommend this book. 💯 Recently I thought to challenge myself to sit for an exam and get certified in Qiskit. Just answered 1 question wrong which I'm sure is related to Shor's algorithm. 😀Attached is my transcript from the exam. Next is contributing to Qiskit codebase. It's great to see how the community has developed the SDK over the last few years and achieving each component in the roadmap. #qiskit #quantum #science #research

I've been reflecting on the incredible diversity within the IT industry lately.
