Restaurant Youth Registered Apprenticeship. (RYRA) Like many people, I started working in the industry in a dish room. My son just started at a place we love, doing the same. I asked him how he felt after his first shift. He said he liked it, and specifically he mentioned he has a good manager and trainer. Many of us Gen Xers learned what we know now - through the informal mentorship of chefs and managers. Back at the turn of the century, I wish 17-year-old David had understood apprenticeship and that it was an option. Instead I put my head down and started washing dishes, and it was the beginning of a fantastic journey. There is so much supported professional development available for newcomers to the industry in 2024. Apprenticeships are also available to people who have enjoyed successful employment and want to add formalized knowledge, skills, and abilities to their craft. Apprenticeships provide access to information and education that propels people up the ladders of promotion and economic mobility. We know this. Apprenticeships are cool like that. Line Cook? Restaurant Manager? Kitchen Manager? Which apprenticeship(s) would work in your house? The NRAEF will cover Related and Training and Instruction for all three. (This is a big bucket full of industry recognized certifications and information!) Apprenticeships mean #recruitment #retention #education #hospitality #skills #knowledge #craft We know this. Did you know this? The data tells us this. Most importantly? Youth and students like Zymire tell us this. Youth are seeking earn while you learn opportunities through registered apprenticeships in restaurants and hotels across the country. Who do you need to share this information with? We'd love to tell you more. Reach out to me or the team at the NRAEF to begin your journey! We can direct employers, apprentices, workforce development professionals and educators towards supported turn-key hospitality sector apprenticeships. HSRA and RYRA provide provide a powerful educational advantage to students and the businesses that employ them. Let's talk!

The power of partnerships! Not only does this partnership help address the labour shortage in the skilled trades, it does so in a way that provides opportunities to under-resourced and Aboriginal youth in the GTA. We must work together if we are going to address some of the most pressing challenges facing the housing sector. #hazelviewcares #socialimpact #skilledtrades
We are excited to share that Hazelview and Deltera Construction Management (Tridel) are joining forces to collaboratively deliver the "Hazelview Cares and Deltera Partners in Community Program". This program is an extension of The Hazelview Cares Trade Apprenticeship Partnership with Hammer Heads and will be the first to deliver against its commitments to hire under-resourced and Aboriginal youth skilled trade apprenticeships for new development projects in the GTA. It aims to directly support the pipeline of talent entering the construction industry. Through this program, we aim to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion across all levels of our construction operations, ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, has the chance to thrive and contribute to our collective success. A Skills Development Scotland survey of apprentice employers revealed that seven in ten benefit from staff retention by recruiting Modern Apprentices. ScotlandShop has moulded and supported young talent, like Auryn Chorley, who has continued to develop at the firm, bringing value to the business. 👏 A great example of employers nationwide choosing to invest in #apprenticeships to create a sustainable workforce. Find out more about taking on an apprentice and post your vacancies for free, visit www.apprenticeships.scot.
Our in-house tartan genius, Auryn Chorley joined ScotlandShop 10 years ago today. Auryn’s tartan journey began when he left school after 4th year to join ScotlandShop as an #Apprentice, going on to win #apprenticeoftheyear at Scotland's Modern Apprenticeship Awards in 2015. Since then Auryn has progressed to taking responsibility for our stock department running a very tight ship making sure that all of our stock and custom made orders are managed perfectly. A true asset to the company and an integral part of making ScotlandShop as brilliant as it is. Congratulations Auryn your flying fingers and ability to process a million orders in a day are quite simply awesome! Watch out on the roads as Auryn has also just passed his "big bike" test and is having fun exploring the Borders and beyond. National Apprenticeship Week is a time to celebrate the success of apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses, and the economy. At Chalkline, we value National Apprenticeship Week because it provides an opportunity to showcase the benefits of apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on our business. Apprenticeships provide a unique opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience and develop the skills they need to succeed in their chosen career. They offer a combination of on-the-job training and classroom learning, allowing apprentices to earn while they learn and gain valuable industry-recognized qualifications. We asked some of our past and present apprentices some questions around the values of apprenticeships, and the results are great to hear! See our blog article: https://lnkd.in/e9xPxZiw #nationalapprenticeshipweek #apprentice #apprenticeship

🌟 Three years ago, I made a bold decision – one that has reshaped the future of Net Visibility. 🌟 I chose to invest in young people. Our goal was simple but ambitious: find the brightest talent, train them the Net Vis way, and give them the kind of responsibility they wouldn’t easily get elsewhere. We built on years of experience working with young talent during A-Level and university holidays, but this time, we were aiming higher. We embarked on a degree apprenticeship programme, offering the right candidates the opportunity to gain a BSc in Leadership and Business Management whilst learning Digital Marketing at Net Visibility. Alan Hansen famously said, "You don't win anything with young people." How wrong he was! We’ve found the perfect blend of "grey hair and young flair," and it’s been a massive success. Our team is a mix of experienced industry experts (also known as the ‘old gits’ who were in marketing long before Google, Facebook, and Snapchat even existed) and the raw, infectious enthusiasm of young talent. Yes, some days it feels like running a kindergarten, but the rewards are there for all to see. Actually there is an argument that the biggest kid in the team is yours truly! This week, we proudly welcomed Millie to the team and sent Kofi off for a well-deserved holiday in Australia. Don’t worry – Tigger will be back soon, fully recharged! If you're thinking about growing your business, I highly recommend considering degree apprenticeships. It’s not without its challenges – you need to ensure everything is documented and not just stored in someone’s head – but the benefits are huge. We’ve managed large-scale Google and Facebook advertising campaigns, thanks to this powerful combination of fresh energy and seasoned wisdom. Here’s to continuing the journey, investing in the future, and proving that a mix of young people with seasoned professionals really is the key to success. 🙌 #Leadership #DigitalMarketing #Apprenticeships #Growth #YoungTalent #Mentorship #BusinessTransformation
Your feed must be full of proud parents posting their kids outside the front door on their first days back at school. We were feeling pretty left out so we thought we'd join in with our amazing Net Vis apprentices! We’re thrilled to welcome Millie Hunter to the team – it’s great to have you on board! 🎉 Bayley Fennell has been with us for 10 months now and continues to make incredible progress. We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved so far! A big shoutout to Sophie Bateman and Kofi Miller who have both hit an impressive 3-year milestone with us. Kofi has officially finished his course (congratulations! 🎓) and is off on an exciting adventure to Australia for the next month 🌏. Soph is nearing the finish line with her course and is set to complete early next year – keep going, you're so close! We are lucky to have such an inspiring and hardworking group, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for each of you! 💪
